@LancsArchives I remember lots of uses planned in the early days including cricket pitches. Instead it was ploughed, drained and let out on agricultural leases. I still believe it was the first public park in UK. The Corporation funded it.

@roversfanzine When Newcastle did us a favour by taking Souness off our hands before he was sacked. Souness had done a great job but had begun fighting his players and, inevitably, Rovers form dipped. He had done a great job, nonetheless.
