Israel tried to kill an 81 year old civilian, and former Reformist politician, for trying to arrange a deal via the Pakistanis. Instead they killed his wife, & maimed him. This is all fine, apparently. Presumably Labour & Conservative Friends of Israel have no issues with it.

It seems we just bombed some residential buildings in an attempt to kill a former diplomat who was trying to facilitate negotiations. A civilian trying to *end* hostilities, surrounded by other civilians in their homes. We are completely lost.

I knew Dr. Kamal Kharazi from my time in cognitive science. He has a PhD in industrial psychology from the University of Houston, and he used his connections to build something like an NIH for cognitive science in Iran — funding research, founding institutes. Today, his home was bombed. His wife was killed. He is critically injured. Either this was indiscriminate — bombing residential neighborhoods — which is terrifying. Or it was targeted — assassinating an 80-year-old academic-diplomat in his home — which is also terrifying. There is no good version of this story. And now I'm thinking about my other colleagues still in Iran.

Tonight's situation is incredibly puzzling. In President Trump's address to the nation just now, he effectively reread many of his recent social media posts out loud. Between threatening Iran's power plants, saying the Iran War would last 2-3 more weeks, and calling out NATO, there was nothing new. Yet, the market is now trading like the Iran War is ramping up for another month-long escalation. Why? Because he didn't explicitly de-escalate. Ironically, President Trump's address to the nation just now has imposed more pressure on the US through the market's reaction. The market, which was finally beginning to show some signs of calming, is now highly agitated, with US oil prices back to $104/barrel, stocks down sharply, and the bond market melting down again. Ironically, President Trump is now back to solving the problem he fixed earlier this week: How will he contain the market?

Interesting claim by CENTCOM here. A very quick estimated measurement using the diameters of the Hoveyzeh and PrSM make the length much more consistent with the PrSM. The Hoveyzeh silhouette is also much different, with wings and a visible engine depending on angle.
