@stephencsmith It seems doable in the gif. A player could also be more careful with how aggressive they are. You could also additionally make the bullets be able to hit the debris which makes it vanish.

@Studio_Evil I think it looks great. Can you please tone down the bounciness of the running animation? The exaggeration is tiring to look at for hours on end. Also custom running animations for slopes, please. The very first Castlevania 40 years ago paid attention to this.
