@pasculator I'll give it a try. It's doable, but I didn't want to make it too difficult as the player could get showered in debris. It might add an interesting gameplay aspect.

@stephencsmith It seems doable in the gif. A player could also be more careful with how aggressive they are. You could also additionally make the bullets be able to hit the debris which makes it vanish.

@stephencsmith I think you could still get the vibe across, is this for a freeware game or something commercial? If it's free just keep the R-Type sprites, worst case (and unlikely) you'll get a cease and desist and will have to change them later

I think I may have to replace my R-Type gfx with a more obscure retro game, what with Irem and Activision both still being around and feeling litigious. Suggestions welcome!
