Jesus I support the protests but what your saying is completely out of line. It’s the gardai commissioner you should be voicing the above too. Gardai have families and bills to pay also you don’t even know if they where given an ultimatum over the whole thing. What do you want them to do lay down and go jobless and proably not get a job again for not following orders. Grow up!

🎶🎶 Looow Lieeee the fields of Athenry.... The Gardai are once again armed to the teeth to beat the ever living bajaysus out of their neighbour, their brother, their uncle... A job worth doing. Turn away every Gardai in your shop, your family, your friends. I would call on my trusted neighbors only. Never again til my dying day. Reject them.

Just a quick bullet point advice to the people protesting on the ground throughout the country. Please share. - it is extremely important that they keep any interactions with the Gardaí or the Army peaceful (both physically and verbally i.e. no shouting verbal abuse, no intimidation, no threatening gestures, no following officials etc) - Extremely important that any interaction with the Gardai or the army is recorded on phones (they have the right to record under Article 10 of the European Convention also decisions in Grigoryan v Armenia (2025) and Butkevich v Russia) - If the Gardaí or the army approaches, it is advisable that they nominate one person to talk as opposed to having a shouting match (as this would increase the risk of escalation); - they should be prepared that they can be arrested for blocking the roads / failure to comply with directions (either under the Road Traffic Act or Public Order Act). If someone is formally arrested (i.e. informed that he is being arrested) they should not resist arrest. Solicitor should be contacted immediately after arrest. - Emergency vehicles must be given free passage (fire access/ ambulances etc). Stay strong, stay calm. #FuelProtest #MakeWorkPay
