@patchwork_pup @MerickRoger I don't think it's a burden. Kids normally love finally being able to make the food for themselves, if you make learning fun and engaging like you're supposed too. I'm sorry your experience lacked this.

@patchwork_pup @StraxusD @KingPootPoot I can understand how you could see it as a hyperbole, but I dont think the original dude was ever really referring to feminists but moreso women as a whole. Thats how I interpret his message, at least. I think it has nothing to do with feminism but rather how we're taught.

@patchwork_pup @anuneasyfeeling That is bunk.. We see it even in the framing.. Teach your SONS, not children, insert traditionally female tasks, not a single traditionally male task.. It's more sympathy slop.. Poor me... do more for me... No no.. keep doing all that other shit for me too...

Israel just released footage of last night's attack on South Lebanon where they demolished an entire town. After getting away with genocide, Israel is emboldened and openly bragging about their war crimes. They are stealing South Lebanon right now and no one is stopping them.

@MerickRoger @total_ctrl1 except that's literally not true lol women have fought for ages to be able to work in 'male industries' and have proven our worth in them time and time again, this is about domestic labor - where there is still a prevailing cultural norm to make women do domestic labor

@patchwork_pup @total_ctrl1 The focus is always on: men need to do more to ease the lives of women. They need to learn traditionally feminine tasks. Because that would benefit women. Focus is never on women taking on traditionally male tasks because it wouldn't. Let's not lie to ourselves..

@JasonsToddies @patchwork_pup @StraxusD @KingPootPoot It wasn't meant as a gotcha, it was meant to show the other side of the argument and not be strictly one-sided. But also, women are not taught those basic skills, nor expected to do them. Just because they "want to" doesn't mean that it's happening, thats not a valid excuse.

@myJuneishere @StraxusD @KingPootPoot it's such a common rhetorical thing i see anti feminist men do, and every single time it's just as illiterate - either because its something feminists agree with but which the men think is ridiculous so they're only suggesting it as hyperbole, or because its not material

@myJuneishere @StraxusD @KingPootPoot the thing is, i think he's doing it bc there is this idea that feminists have a double standard, so by flipping I he thinks he's underlying that double standard and feminists will get mad - but it's already stuff feminists advocate for.

@MerickRoger @Kappa_Sutra home ec is probably a really good thing I've heard its discontinued now in most places which is a shame, because that puts the burden back on the parents who often use such responsibilities to enact Patriarchal enculturation rather than give their kids a holistic upbringing

@Kappa_Sutra @patchwork_pup When I was in high school most of us guys took home ec. cause it was an easy grade, and fun. We all learned to cook, sew, did modules on parenting, learned about sanitation around the home, etc.. Ms. S. was a bit goofy, but we all loved her.

@SirNscholar @KingPootPoot mostly bc women already know how to do those things at this point but culture is not keeping up with educating men on domestic labor, hence the reason for stressing that boys should be taught said skills too, and not just girls so that division of labor can be more equitable

@patchwork_pup @StraxusD @KingPootPoot The real ridiculousness is claiming I said the man was right when that is nowhere in my reply. You've just answered my question; a sexist pretending to be for equality.
