Your daily reminder that Stan Fischler is still not in the Hockey Hall of Fame. Stan Fischler should be inducted in the 2026 Class of the @HockeyHallFame! #NJDevils #Isles #NYR

The @HockeyHallFame must induct @StanFischler in the Class of 2026. In the 90's he was *40* years into his hockey career, and now 30 years later he's STILL going at 94. He's contributed to the sport at an unprecedented level. #NJDevils #NYR #Isles #NHL

Stan Fischler belongs in the @HockeyHallFame Class of 2026. It's absurd he isn't already in. Retweet the original post below to support Stan "The Maven" Fischler! #NJDevils #isles #nyr #NHL

Game Day Chaos: "I Rush Around Like an Idiot." 🏒 Two to three hours before puck drop and already moving at full speed. Rolling stool. Strobes synced in the rafters. Remote camera in the net. Another one shooting straight down from above. All triggered by radio frequency from 200 feet away at the other end of the ice. The amount of preparation that goes into capturing a single iconic hockey photo is unreal. The NHL Wraparound Podcast goes behind the lens with legendary photographer Bruce Bennett. Subscribe for more incredible hockey stories! "I get to the arena and I rush around like an idiot — there is so much to set up before puck drop." 😂🏒 Listen to the latest episode at nhlwraparound.com

The Infamous Bruins Shoe Incident 🏒 December 23rd. Madison Square Garden. Mike Milbury climbs into the stands, pulls a shoe off a fan, and the rest is hockey history. 46 years later people still talk about it like he pounded the guy a hundred times — but the video tells a different story. Terry O'Reilly jumping into the crowd. Bruins everywhere. One of the wildest moments in NHL history. The NHL Wraparound Podcast breaks it all down. Subscribe for more great hockey stories! "Milbury removed the shoe of a patron and beat him with it — and you can watch the whole thing on YouTube." 😂🏒 Listen to the latest episode at nhlwraparound.com

I am obsessed with film and TV, and have endless respect for the time, passion and energy artists put into making shows and films. I want every interview I conduct to reflect that, and when they do, it fills me up. I also have endless respect for fans. If I’m lucky enough to talk to the folks they admire about the stories they’ve fallen in love with, I better do them justice. Giving viewers the insight they want and, in some cases, the insight they didn’t even know they need overjoys me.

Had to give this its own post. Excuse me while I ramble … Been thinking a lot about what Jamie Lee Curtis asked - what does it mean to me to be respected in my line of work? Honestly? I’m shocked I was able to keep it together on the spot to give a coherent response that I actually feel pretty good about but now that I’ve had more time to sit with it - being respected means everything because I know the work I’m putting out is truly me. It took me time to find my voice in this space and to pinpoint what I wanted to bring to it. When I found it, I didn’t let it go. There’s endless pressure nudging journalists in one direction or another, and yes, we all have to evolve and adapt a bit, but when I figured out the key values that were guiding my compass most, those became a non-negotiable guiding light. So the idea of being respected really does mean the world because I’m just being myself, doing work I genuinely love and take great pride in.

The Players’ Tribune@PlayersTribune

In 2018, Hal Gill reflected on playing against — and eventually with — Sidney Crosby: “The first thing that struck me about Sidney Crosby was his size. He was … small. I wanted to dominate and overpower him. When we matched up, I wanted him to feel every ounce of my strength. I was still with the Bruins in 2005 when I played him for the first time. He was tearing up the league and I thought, All right, kid, you haven’t played me yet. First shift, I get him in the corner and I lean on him, and he doesn’t move. It’s like I’m pushing against a brick wall. And then he slips right off me, and he’s gone. I tried it again and again and again. Then sometime in the second period I realized: I’m doing exactly what he wants. He wants me to lean on him, so he can slip off me. He wants me to try to bully him, because he can’t be bullied. He’s too strong. So the next shift I get out there, and I think, OK, I’m going to force him to his backhand every time. That’s what I would do to guys I couldn’t handle, because everyone is weaker on their back hand; it makes it harder for them to pass. But Sid would fire pinpoint backhand passes 30 or 40 feet across the ice. It was like he was playing a different sport. How?! This guy is only 19. I don’t get it. Then I became teammates with him in 2007, and it all made sense. I saw his work ethic, his leadership and his passion for the game — nobody loves hockey more than Sid. And I saw his skill up close. His vision, his speed and — yeah, he’s got thighs like tree trunks — I saw why I couldn’t move him on the ice.” playerstribu.ne/Gill @Skillsy75 | @penguins | @NHL
