@AhonsiBA@UNSierraLeone Is a welcome idea to see election violence investigated and perpetrators prosecuted and punished. This will serve as a nip in the bud for the general elections.
On behalf of the @UNSierraLeone, I've issued a statement today expressing concerns over the violent incident in the Tonkolili District Const 056 by-elections for MP & called for a prompt investigation of the incidents so that perpetrators will be brought to justice.
@ECsalone I'm proud to be part of this session where journalists were being reminded of their responsibility to credible reporting of the electoral process. This is also to showcase the ECSL preparedness for 2023 multi-tier elections.
ECOWAS Head of Democracy and Good Governance Division Dr. Emmanuel Okorodudu said ECOWAS is concerned about media reportage & hope the training will give practitioners the tools to control disinformation & enhance the integrity of EMBs. Social media influencers 2 b circumspect
Joint ECOWAS & UNOWAS assessment mission on #elections preparedness holds talk with @ECsierraleone on the upcoming 2023 elections. Commissioners Edmond Alpha & Abu Bakkar Koroma assure them of EC's preparedness but have challenges like lack of vehicles, disbursement
@ECsalone Legal Affairs Director Fatorma Fabundeh trains Sierra Leone Women in Journalism (SLAWIJ) in #ElectoralLaws, EMBs and their Respective Mandates' at Radisson Blu in a one-day Session
@JudiciaryofSL Well done to the Judiciary for improving this very important sector of governance. We hope that this could be replicated in other government institutions like the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone.
The President, Industrial and Social Security Court, Hon. Justice Sengu Koroma (JSC) in his opening remarks said the commencement of 3 days Retreat on the review of the Industrial Court Rules & Development of Social Security Court Rules will be enduring but a rewarding exercise.
My PhD thesis is joint winner for the 2022 Firoz Lalji PhD Thesis Prize lse.ac.uk/africa/opportu… for outstanding contribution on knowledge on Africa. Salone always produces the best of the best. #SaloneTwitter
If I win this govt digital media contract I’m not hiring any foreign travel influencers to make content for #sierraleone.
It’s an economic diversification project—all the budget I get for influencers will go to Sierra Leonean content creators.
Nothing else will make sense.
@LamranaAmadu We shouldn't try to ridicule the good intentions of the IGP if we are really patriotic. Just try to rationalise why police carry guns and you are not allowed. Also think about the moment when you are under your bed whilst the police confronts incidents. Please appreciate.
Led by the IGP, Dr. Ambrose Sovula, 1,500 police officers in #Freetown are participating in a nationwide awareness-raising jogging exercise on peace, non-violence, and intimidation.
Meanwhile, the 2017 ban on public jogging is still in force.

@ECsalone@MKKonnehECSL@CommissionerEd1@ZMoseray This is a true manifestation of the Commission's willingness to implement the policy of Electoral Inclusion and collaboration. Thanks to the Chief Electoral Commissioner and his team for reaching out.
@MoserayAT@ComradeKoita Sorry to say that your point of argument is very misleading. I will not continue with you as the essence of Twitter is not to misinform people.
@patlabib@ComradeKoita@NECsalone@MKKonnehNECSL We have seen their professionalism wherein they turn 069 votes to 169 which is a daylight robbery on us the electorate by NEC themselves.
@ComradeKoita@NECsalone@MKKonnehNECSL The peace and stability of S/L is in the hands of all of us but mainly politicians who are the main clients especially people who spread hate speeches. The ECSL is very professional and remain committed to the principles of fairness and credibility.
@NECsalone@MKKonnehNECSL Appreciate you announce the date for the elections, mind you the world is watching your attitude towards the conduct of the elections and the peace and stability of Sierra leone is in your hands, because we can encourage any result doesn't reflect the will of the people.
@MKKonnehNECSL Inviting stakeholders to this burning ceremony attracted many onlookers in Koinadugu District headquarter Town of Kabala. In his brief statement, the chairman of Koinadugu District Council commended NEC for their transparency, inclusivity and accountabilit in their operations.
In preparation for the next electoral cycle, NEC commenced burning of obsolete election materials today across the country. Stakeholders and political parties were invited to witness the process.
@cellasey@CGGSierraLeone With all due respect to you Madam, I don't understand what you mean by undermining Audit Services. As a civil society Activist, your reports or comments should be precise and clear and avoid ambiguous statements that would rather undermine your very status.
We want to reiterate that the on-going attempt to undermine The Audit Service Sierra Leone and render the institution incapable is an affront to its institutional independence and State building.
