Ballygunner get the green light for two senior teams. Good idea or bad idea? On one hand, it keeps elite players playing senior hurling week in, week out. More meaningful games, more pressure moments, more lads tested at the top level. On the other, does it squeeze the life out of the rest of the championship? Fewer senior spots, more pressure on traditional clubs, and a widening gap that Waterford hurling has been warned about for years. Does this strengthen the overall standard in the county, or does it concentrate power even further and weaken the wider base? Most important of all, what does it actually mean for the Waterford senior hurling team long term? Over to ye. Agree or disagree 👇 Good for Waterford, or another step towards imbalance?

@patoc37 I noted the change the year of the Joes win, and I believe that version wasnt quite "robust" enough. I didnt realise there was a third version. Its a pity heaven and earth wasn't moved to simply replicate the original. You wouldnt change Sam or Liam.

....but only one football match.

@LeixGaelicStats In the 1911 census for Laois, only 3 male Cuddys begin with W. All are William. One is 44, one is 10, so reasonable to assume that this man was William Cuddy, 25, Cappanacloghy. Near Shanahoe.

I love that the referee in the 1919 All Ireland final was under cover of a pseudonym. Mr “Patricks” of Leix. Probably a few referees nowadays would love that option. I think the man’s real name was Pat Dunphy. J “Reilly” of Kildare was Jim Stanley. @LeixGaelicStats
