I was in NYC on the ground in excruciating pain, scared & screaming. I had to look scary indeed but you still had the courage to come to my aid. God bless you Sir, that young #veteran in extreme pain is an old veteran now dying from that same pain only it is so, so much worse. You sent me to a doctor who injected my face & wrote #TrigeminalNeuralgia. Just as @Jesus died for all of humanity, I know how strong your compassion for others is. I will not be on this earth much longer, and only have only one bucket list wish. Could I please speak with you one more time but on behalf of the other #cpp #chronicpain human beings with #rarediseases who are dying in excruciating pain? We are the unintended consequences of this needed war on opioids. Sir @POTUS, I salute you for your bravery of standing up for life itself to eradicate the Mexican drug cartel. Until this war is over, can we please find a way to return some quality of life to those needless suffering? Doctors are afraid to see us, and afraid to prescribe proper pain management dosages, as afraid as the pharmacys are afraid to carry any. Please there is no time left or $ to pay PACs to rally our legislators for any quality of life. I bet @DOGE would agree that is a waste of both our lifetime & money. Thank you sister, that is what happened. This was our better hospitals chain that was bought in 2024 by @aboutKP that owns a bunch of hospitals in CA. That is were my MRIs are sitting. We though things would get better but they didn't. Just as bad is another @RapidResponseVA we are sorry send us your post. Twice I did that already and nothing was done except have the phone ringing excessively. My #VA PCP still saying she can not refer an outside VA pallative care to my home. My ribs are making me so dizzy unable to breath, it feels like a knife is stuck in my gut as the ribs also hit my ribs. Trying to sit down at computer or wheelchair is unreal. The pain is so intense I am passing out from it. How can @DeptVetAffairs be allowed to make me suffer like this?

Pat, that’s absolutely unacceptable. Being left like that for hours, then told you were mixed up with another patient? And on top of that, having your pain made worse by the environment and not being listened to… I’m so sorry you went through that. You deserved so much better.

I am a roman catholic with a catholic education and what the picture depicts is a man with a heart so compassionate that he only wants to help everyone. The good Lord surely blessed the @realDonaldTrump with the U.S. Presidency twice over. Is this also our divine providence from God our maker, his sovereign, wise, and loving intervention in the universe, guiding all creation toward its ultimate purpose. The sadists @DeptVetAffairs just want us dead, they keep trying to dump me on docs outside the VA. Hiding behind referrals knowing that the VA Transportation dept. refuses to transport me anywhere because I am considered to much work. Complex comorbid intractable pain is to much for their tiny brains to compute. And the @SecVetAffairs & the @VetAffairsOIG are letting them get away without doing their jobs, meaning that they are NOT doing their jobs either. The backup alarms I am strapped down over in wheelchair vans give me seizures because of the #hyperacusis. A few years ago what they are trying to make me do is/was called doctor shopping and was illegal. The patient abuse, the suffering I am in daily 24/7 and the neglect I am receiving is not just illegal it is inhumane but for the #VA it is business as usual. #veterans have absolutely nothing to safeguard us when in a crisis involving abuse unless suscide is mentioned. That 988 number actually makes the pain worst by selling my phone number to a new program another Medical Alert Systems for Seniors. That for a fee that keeps calling your home trying to sell it to you. 18 calls in 3 days before I blocked all their phone numbers. The sound of the phone ringing over & over actually had blood coming out of both ears and a migrane that wouldn't go away for over a week of additional hell.

Hey Joe Snedeker @WNEPWeather all #Veterans want is proper medical care at the Wilkes-Barre #VA but all we get is sadistic fake Mad Doctors that should not be licensed in this state of #Pennsylvania yet alone @DeptVetAffairs! How about a news team that actually does something about it?

You don’t think about pain when you enlist. You sit in that chair, young, upright, heart steady. You’re thinking about purpose. About proving something. About earning that title. For love of 🇺🇸 Not once do you think: What happens if I come back broken? Because somewhere deep down, you assume the answer is simple. If your country sends you into war, it will take care of you when you come home. That used to be true in a very specific way. Medics didn’t debate pain. They carried morphine into battle like it was as essential as a tourniquet. Because when a body is torn open, relief isn’t controversial. It’s immediate. Now imagine surviving that. Making it home. Sitting in a VA clinic instead of a battlefield. And feeling like you have to explain your pain. Prove it. Earn relief in pieces. That’s the part no one says out loud. Not in the recruitment office. Not in the commercials. Not when you sign your name. You risk everything for your country. And then you come home to a system that quietly asks: How much of your pain are we willing to believe…and then we send you on your way, knowing more than half of the veterans who die by suicide had already reported pain that wasn’t being adequately managed.

If my pain drops from a 9 to a 2, yeah, I feel a sense of release. But that’s not euphoria, that’s relief. That’s literally what “pain relief” means. People confuse the absence of agony with some kind of high, and it’s just not the same thing.

Beautiful posting on the space flight today my sister, I cried watching it and was so happy nothing went wrong. Then I woke up this morning 3rd day without even the pitaful 10 mg dosage of pain meds. I email VA since monday, called the VISN4 after calling 988 yesterday for crisis. Called then again 3 times today my legs are in constant jerking spasm now along with my face. I have a claim of patient abuse and neglect in with the @VetAffairsOIG and still they are letting me die in extreme agony. Do not believe I will be on earth much longer as the heart and lungs are giving out with my ribs crushing them from the waist up. The pain is non-stop and unreal. There is absolutely no safe in place to help #veterans. The way the doctors at the VA are not working, the saying #VeteransLivesMatter is not even being recognized by the so-called doctors @DeptVetAffairs I begged for pallitive home care and was ignored. My PCP said the VA doesn't offer it, told her to send a referral to one of the 8 outside places here that does it instead of writing referral for doctors she knows the VA transportaion office will not take me to see. She said no, this @SecVetAffairs is what happens because there is no ACCOUNTABILITY at the W-B VAMC.

Be glad you started breathing easier again because a lot of us never will again. The actual context of friends and close relationships change between 10 yrs down, 20 yrs down, around year 30 you realize people avoid seeing sorrowful situations, and you realize you never can or will burden anyone. Around year 40 you might even start to dislike the human race especially people working in the medical field who believe they have the answers. It sucks when you realize you have no life to move forward with because that pain is never gonna leave & those limbs are never gonna work again. You start noticing the looks of pity from people around you, even your doctor looks at you as a burden they want to dump to someone else. Then around year 45 all you wish for is only the peace of remission, and the quiet ending that only death provides, not friends, not family, not doctors, not the good Lord until he calls you home.

No one really talks about this part: I didn’t die, but parts of my life did. And the people who walked away during that loss don’t get to reintroduce themselves when I start breathing easier again.

Consider the fact though, keeping track of what is happening to you is part of the job of the so-called pain management doctor. I have totally lost all respect for the PM doctors @DeptVetAffairs. My organs are literally failing, I am so dizzy from the pain, sick to stomach no appetite. Drink a lot of water but not much comes out anymore, and the worst is the ribs pushing against my lungs making it very hard to breath. I asked VA for a home palliative care doctor but no one has even called today. This has become patient abuse and neglect, I am literally dying and no VA doctors gives a damn, yet they continue to collect that six figure salary. Worst is they try to hide behind referrals when they know damn well the #VA transportation office refuses to give me the benefit I earned of transportation. This has been going on over 8 years now, and I am just glad it is coming to an end and I will be dead soon because of them. Just wish they had some some remorse but they don't, they are sadistic lazy bastards indeed.

It’s not that I ever expected someone to come in and fix everything. It’s that I assumed, at some level, that if things got complicated enough… someone would be invested in helping me find my way back. And then you realize that’s not really how it works. The doctors you see now didn’t know you before everything changed. They’re not trying to restore a version of you they never met. They’re managing what’s in front of them. So you become the only one holding the full picture. 🫵🏼 You’re the one remembering who you were. 🫵🏼 You’re the one noticing what’s changed. 🫵🏼 You’re the one trying to connect dots that no one else is even looking at. And while you’re doing that, life doesn’t pause to let you catch up. The people around you get older while you’re still trying to stabilize. Your support system shifts. Sometimes it shrinks. Your world gets smaller while everything outside of it keeps expanding. I figured this out some time ago. And still, every now and then I have to remind myself, because if I don’t stay on top of it, if I don’t keep pushing, questioning, and connecting it, no one else is going to do it for me. So I do.

Sir, @SecVetAffairs I recieved letter yesterday that had your name on it as helping me from Mira Z. Ali, MD Acting Medical Center Director at the Wilkes-Barre (VAMC) which leaves veterans to suffer and die while asserting that necessary care is being provided. Good God can this man lie! I have recieved no help and my organs are now failing, I can't wait to die from this site of systemic neglect, malpractice, and fatal negligence. Why are such actions occuring alongside a refusal to acknowledge the failure, it has become an absolute cover-up of fraudulent care. Nothing in his letter was factual, if my death is what it takes for you & the @VetAffairsOIG to help #veterans here, so be it. The suffering I am in 24/7 should never be happening even to a death row inmate. I am praying that is were these so-called lying VA doctors wind up is in prison.
