Let us stop messing around. Equivocating. Not being clear. “Maybe we will manufacture? Don’t gather in crowds?”
I’m going to say it. #StayTheFHome socially. I know it’s hard but it’s all we have to prevent our front line workforce from an onslaught. 5/

@pekkagaiser @kentsatwit @garylosh @gortok Finally got around to getting that job description updated. Thanks for the feedback!

Coming out of the Twitter carbonite to seek help with this JavaScript job posting. Not getting many bites. What would you change to make it more appealing / inclusive?

@pekkagaiser @gortok It’s reporting to me. I’m not nearly as cool as Gortok, but like him, I’ve been using SO since it was in beta. (That’s where we met, in fact.) I also had a pretty big role in getting UX.stackexchange.com off the ground. Thanks for your feedback!
English

@patrick_mc @gortok Will this position be working with/reporting to you? I'm massively biased, of course, but if I were looking, I would definitely pay attention to a job posting featuring a SE mod.
i.e. maybe a "who would you be working with?" section would make sense. Also what size is the team
English

@gortok Yeah, I got a good chuckle out of it. Just the right amount of sass. :)
English

@gortok You had me at “when he’s not writing speaker bios”.

@beeonaposy I have a little experience with data warehousing and business intelligence. How do these relate to data science?

Something incredible is happening on reddit. I'm tempted to say these people have way too much time, but this is legit amazing. #RecursionFTW

Every night my watch nags me about closing activity rings. 🏃
Every night my phone nags me about limiting screen time. 🤳
Every night I wonder when @Apple is going to let us use activity to buy screen time. 🙏🏼

@PaulJanPauptit @lizardbill Okay junior, I’ll show you this one time. From now on, you’re responsible for remembering how to do this new thing.
Later I’m going to expect you to explain it to me. Every time. Even though you just reminded me the week before.
That’s how this works.
English

@lizardbill senior senior dev: what? what thing? Let me check my notes.
(maybe I'm the only one getting too old to remember stuff)

@sompylasar @sindresorhus Imagine you could view class and function names in disassembled code for 25 years.
There’s an easily discoverable way to disassemble any application.
You learned to code by dissembling your favorite apps. Others learn from your apps.
Does that help you understand?
English

@sindresorhus The web has finally become a compilation target, a platform, an operating system for applications. It's like complaining of having no function or class names in disassembled CPU machine codes.

@inastheananas Hi @iAmMaccing. You don’t know me, but I thought you might have some advice for this other person who doesn’t know me. :)

@Nothke @RikardAslund @olafurw @MatRopert Definitely reinvent the wheel! Do it to learn how wheels work and how to work with wheels. Just prefer the off-the-shelf wheel in production code. :)
English

@RikardAslund @olafurw @MatRopert This is what everyone tells me. However, I'm a kind of a person that needs to reinvent the wheel to understand something :D It's a good advice nevertheless, just that it doesn't work on everyone :)
