.@paulandersen is presenting at the @region13 #STEM Convening. Such a great teacher and helped me through my years as a AP Bio teacher. I might have to find a reason to relate this to work. #reidbio

Introducing JacobsQuick.Tips This is the new home for all of my videos. It's the one link I can proudly share with people when they ask where to find my resources and my hope is that it might be a link you'll consider sharing with your own schools + colleagues too. (1/4)

I love this so much. Thanks @StatedClearly for sharing this book and encouraging young scientists to not be afraid of the jargon and extras that make science unapproachable to many. | Scientific Papers Made Easy | Stated Clearly Review youtu.be/EGkWb54GB1U?si… via @YouTube

Schools are struggling, Teachers are struggling, and most importantly students, children, our kids, our neighbors, our future are struggling. We need to stand together. Parents need to stand together. Educators need to stand together. Texans need to stand together.

<> I cannot stress how vital the next several weeks are for the future of public education. This is a monumental moment for the hardworking public school students, teachers, leaders, and communities across Texas. What we know for a fact: (1) The empirical evidence on the success of vouchers is overwhelmingly negative. There is no unbiased scientific scholar who has produced meaningful evidence that vouchers do anything other than hurt the chances of ALL student populations in terms of receiving access to an equitable and excellent educational offering. (2) This is not a partisan issue! Republicans and Democrats alike across Texas have come out against vouchers...frequently, out loud, and clearly...seemingly to deaf ears. (3) Public education in Texas is already underfunded. Period. Point Blank. Despite having a historical surplus of funds available, compared to other U.S. states, Texas is WOEFULLY behind in its support of the public school system. Our teachers, students, and communities deserve better. (4) The Governor of Texas has a Constitutional responsibility to "Sec. 1. SUPPORT AND MAINTENANCE OF SYSTEM OF PUBLIC FREE SCHOOLS." Currently, we are NOT following through on our constitutional obligations. BOTTOM LINE: If you care about the future of public schools in Texas, now is the time to speak up. We cannot wait another minute, day, or week to make our voices heard. As a public school teacher, and as a son and grandson of public school employees, I ask you to use your voice (call, email, show up, gather, etc.). Silence is NOT an option at this point. We need your voice now if you claim to support your sisters and brothers in public school communities. Silence during this moment in history will be recognized. Now and always, vouchers are bad policy for Texas. "Just because the state share of school funding increases due to property tax relief does not mean the state is increasing per-student funding for public schools." ~Dr. Smith @mishshel expressnews.com/opinion/commen… #TxEd #TxLege

@EllenTroxclair 🤔@EllenTroxclair Alternate thought. Maybe we should worry about requiring all schools to have an armed staff member on campus, and yet only providing $15K/school. That is an inappropriate use of money, in that schools have to cover the $50K difference. Unconstitutional? #txlege

Eanes ISD is spending hundreds of thousands of tax dollars to buy a brand new fleet of TESLAs. Raise your hand if you’re tired of being gaslit by some districts claiming they don’t have enough money while they spend wildly on luxury cars 🙋🏻‍♀️ #txlege
