Broncos are trading for Miami WR Jaylen Waddle, per source. Denver receives: Waddle and Dolphins’ 4th-round pick (11th in round) in this year’s draft. Miami receives: Broncos’ 1st round pick (30th overall) along with their late 3rd and 4th round picks (30th in each round) in this year’s draft.

@ezlazar It’s very interesting how polar opposite (so far) the two teams in the AFC Championship are treating this offseason.

The #Patriots have yet to retain any of their own free agents: Chaisson (Commanders), Tonga (Chiefs), Hawkins (Ravens), Lowe (49ers), Hooper (Falcons), Austin (Dolphins), Gibbens (Cardinals). Could be clearing the decks for draft picks at EDGE, TE, OT, LB, S?

@A4jones I would imagine it’s not nearly as bad as it looks on the surface. But I am still surprised at him being slotted in as TE2. That kinda surprises me more than the money involved.

Maybe I'm missing someone else, but it feels like the Bills have the two biggest overpays of the offseason so far in Bradley Chubb (3/$43.5M) and D.J. Moore (traded a 2nd for Moore, a 5th and his 4/$98M contract).

Term updates: TE Julian Hill (formerly Dolphins) agreed to a 3-year deal with Patriots, while S Mike Brown (formerly of Titans) agreed to a 1-year deal. Both were not tendered as restricted FAs. Hill, whose toughness was valued by former coach Mike McDaniel, now slots as TE2.

Jaylinn Hawkins is indeed gone to Baltimore. He earned it. Best of luck to him! Byard is a great replacement (and a better player) albeit older. Throw a rookie in that room and let him learn behind Byard.

I really like Kevin Byard as a player. Playmaker. Good vet signing. Add another young guy to the room via the draft? Sucks this likely means Jaylinn Hawkins is gone. But love getting Byard.

Opinion/analysis: Safety Kevin Byard (5-11, 218) enters his 11th season and is viewed as a consummate pro with top ball skills (36 career INTs) and range. Availability seldom in question. Given past ties with Mike Vrabel, having played for him in Tennessee (2018-2023), should be smooth transition into system. Lingering question: How does this affect free-agent Jaylinn Hawkins' potential return?
