You are not “missing information.” IMAX is an immersive format, and the additional image area is there to extend into your peripheral vision and create that immersion. Treating every difference in framing as though essential visual information has been removed completely misunderstands both the purpose of IMAX and how human vision works. It is not simply about seeing “more picture.” It is about how the image occupies your field of view.
