That's a very strange twist. They don't depend on the £20m loan to actually operate as that money has all been spent. What they DO depend upon are new loans each and every coming season to fund ongoing losses. So all other things being equal they depend on £3.4million of NEW money being (probably) loaned in for each successive season - NOT the legacy £20million

Salford City lost almost £3.4 million in 2024/25 taking total losses to £27.5m. The club is dependent upon a £20m loan from its owners to operate.

Seems odd what happened on pitch at City Ground given that a blind trust was set up to run Nottingham Forest a couple of weeks ago which removed Marinakis from control. So in theory he had no right to be anywhere near the playing surface.
