why is the tech industry suddenly so obsessed with this ASCII/halftone aesthetic? and where did it come from? we’ve shifted away from the clean “SaaS” aesthetic probably because ai can one shot it nowadays and it feels low effort ascii feels raw, but technical. it feels imperfect. yet it’s also starting to feel cheap in its own way. soulless and kind of dystopian maybe the next big thing is just hand drawn ui. maybe tech companies will need a behind the scenes of their process just like filmmaking
