@DZRishmawy Exactly. If a Mormon time-traveled to the 1st century and presented their theology—minus the names—people would assume they were describing Greek pagan polytheism, not the Christian faith.

Imagine a Norwegian prophet arose in 1839 proclaiming he had further revelation from Allah that included polytheism, a new pilgrimage site, several new holy books on top of the Quran, which he and his successors could alter via revelation. Would you call his followers Muslims?

It’s absurd to say that Mormons aren’t Christians. That idea comes from fringe voices and old conspiracy theories. Latter-day Saints worship Jesus Christ as the Son of God and Savior of the world. Here’s why that claim has never made sense:

@MusingsOnChrist I share this conviction! The number of evangelicals who believe bonafide heresies is alarming. My role at my church was created to train our staff & help form our people theologically. I’m in the DFW area & would love to talk about how to address this crisis if you have the time

American Evangelicalism is in crisis. Now you know why the Southern Baptist Convention must affirm the Nicene Creed: “Only 11% of American adults, and only 16% of self-proclaimed Christians, believe in the trinity.” Arizona Christian University arizonachristian.edu/wp-content/upl…

A key question when engaging in debate or disagreement (over issues that actually matter): Am I trying to win, or am I trying to win them over? My aim determines my tone and my tactics.

My dad is a massive lifelong UK fan. And he went to Murray State. So yeah, he’s never becoming Catholic. #saintpeters

That was too easy. I thought the Bills' defense was better than that. That was a joke.

Fantastic flow chart from Vaughan Roberts on Christian freedom (i.e., issues where scripture is unclear or silent).

Any Christian who is thinking about publicly disagreeing with another believer should first read “Controversy” by John Newton. Imagine what Christian Twitter would be like if we all took heed to this wise counsel:👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾

Once we have seen Him in a stable, we can never be sure where He will appear or to what lengths he will go or to what ludicrous depths of self-humiliation He will descend in His wild pursuit of men. Frederick Buechner

Some questions I’m asking today to filter my thoughts/words: 1. When I disagree w/ someone: do these thoughts reflect the reality that this is someone whom God has made & for whom Jesus has died? 2. Will I be known for my love tomorrow by what I say or how I say what I say today?
