👉1. “Zcash is an absolute safe haven”, this is a flawed assumption in cryptography and legal reality
Zcash is strong in privacy, but it is not invulnerable:
🔶ZK-SNARKs require a trusted setup.
This introduces a single point of failure at genesis. If the ceremony is compromised, the privacy set can be silently broken.
🔶The shielded pool has historically had low usage.
A small anonymity set reduces real privacy through set-size analysis.
🔶Academic studies have shown deanonymization paths
when users move between shielded and transparent pools.
🔶Legally, privacy coins like ZEC face FATF scrutiny and delisting risks.
The idea of “escaping persecution with just your pants” sounds catchy, but regulatory choke points remain.
=> Calling Zcash a “safe haven” is overly optimistic.
👉2. “NEAR is the in-and-out route”, lacks evidence of being a dominant interoperability layer
NEAR is not the strongest interoperability solution:
🔶NEAR is not the leading interoperability standard.
Cosmos IBC, Polkadot XCM, Axelar, Wormhole, and zkBridges have more robust audit histories and wider adoption.
🔶Bridges are the single largest attack vector in all of crypto.
Over $9B in hacks have come from bridges.
So if Zcash is the “safe haven”, passing through a NEAR bridge is like exiting through an unlocked door.
🔶NEAR focuses on UX and chain abstraction but does not provide zk-level security like modern L2s.
=> Calling NEAR a “safe entry and exit route” contradicts real-world security data.
👉3. “Starknet is the fully functional economic city”, appealing metaphor, but ignores systemic risks
Starknet is powerful, but:
🔶Cairo is a new language → higher audit and learning-curve risk.
A “lively city” needs a large developer base, which is still growing.
🔶STARK proofs require heavy computation.
The economic viability at massive scale needs more time to prove itself.
🔶The sequencer is not yet fully decentralized.
A “self-governing city” still relies on a central operator today.
=> Describing Starknet as a finished “economic metropolis” is idealistic.
👉4. This tri-chain model is elegant as a story, not as infrastructure
Your analogy is:
🔷Zcash = shelter
🔷NEAR = the road
🔷Starknet = the city
But a triangle of privacy, connectivity, and economic activity only works if all three sides meet rigorous standards:
🔶Privacy cannot rely on a trusted setup.
🔶Connectivity cannot rely on the most frequently hacked component in crypto (bridges).
🔶Economic systems cannot rely on a still-maturing programming ecosystem.
=> The metaphor is beautiful, but the technical foundation doesn’t match the narrative.

- @NEARProtocol -- easy integration with other chains.
- @Starknet -- programmability (the ability to build DeFi, economy, financialization), scale and UX.
So, Zcash is the safe haven that provides you shelter, Near is the route to get in and out of it, and Starknet is the lively, functional city built within that safe haven ;-)
