There' s a reason why woman keep notes, minutes and audit trails of what they do at work, which Cat Little did. Misogynistic pigs who work for the media belittle them.
Quentin Letts@thequentinletts

Latest mandarin being quizzed in Mandelson affair is Cat Little of the cabinet office. Head wobbler. Tone of a kindergarten teacher. Bejargoned. Uses the historic present tense. How does anyone endure working in Whitehall?

If you’re wondering why your local high street is dying, have you considered the possibility that car dominance, poor public transport links, a lack of cycle lanes, and the absence of high quality street cleaning and green infrastructure are amongst the chief reasons?

@aligreen9999 @thetimes Developers do not have "free reign" that's simply a ridiculous statement given the country's housing shortage and mismatch between prices and income.

@thetimes Rosie's done a good job of highlighting the govn's weakening of environmental protections in their planning bill, & how developers have free reign to build over countryside & important wildlife habitats. The govn's housing targets could still be met without this destruction.

"buying your votes" is when they give kids (who cant vote) school meals. But not when retirees get: * "free" prescriptions * "free" buses * "free" local trains * endless pension increases * up till recently free cash for heating * up till recently free uk tv license
Katharine Birbalsingh@Miss_Snuffy

They are buying your votes. This isn’t about giving struggling families help. This is about ‘making mornings easier for all families’. Do we really want the state doing everything for us? What about personal responsibility? How infantilising.

It’s really hard to see the case that the UK’s social housing system, with its extremely varying rewards of housing based entirely on geographic accident, is ‘fair’. Good for equality? Sure. A net utility gain? Likely. But it’s far too arbitrary to feel fair.
