After a while without Twitter on my phone, I don't think I'm going back. Even though this place is one of inspiration for me, I think I need to bore myself much longer these days to create something instead of just rehashing ideas of others. Honor requires that I be elsewhere.

@seanonolennon Because it's hard to retract from a closely held belief without losing face. Also tribalism makes the change of individual members unlikely. Also with some organisations corporate-like focus on here and now nuclear is too slow to build (10+ years time frames in mdrn bureaucracy)

@siaw23 Tbh this sentence does teach you the cases for subject and object of the verb eating as well as the form for neuter which is pretty rare for a grammatical gender. Also sobaku yelo yabloko is a theoretically valid syntax for the same meaning as well, so... XD

If I ever stop using Duolingo, it’d be for senseless sentences like this. Whoever came up with this must have been working for free 😑

@TylerAlterman The ones who are retired or the ones that still work? The latter, I guess it's the work hard play hard credo, at least for where I live. They were the ones who burned the midnight oil to keep the machine's gears spinning, they may not be accustomed to being family people.

@TylerAlterman Therapist should help you get through a tough spot when you don't ask yourself "why" enough and you need some headspace and time slot to do just that. If we are spending months on end going through therapy, it means something is absolutely ef'd up with our upbringing.

My generation has started seeing endless therapists & healers & coaches to make their lives better. Does it actually work???I'm skeptical in most cases. Seems often actively harmful – making ppl more navel-gazey. What I *actually* see making lives radically better is adding a new positive daily influence. Or subtracting/transforming a negative one. Eg a friend, partner, city, community, job, project, diet, source of income. IMO coaches & spiritual guides should be actively connecting you to new positive daily influences. They should be sending you a link to local DnD event where you might meet a friend/partner. Hooking you up with a dance class in the style you've wanted to try. Introducing you to a professor you can talk to about that history project you've always wanted to start. You know, like a good friend would do!! IMO if your therapist or shaman or whatever isn't working with daily influences? and it's all just "inner work"? drop them

@SpookiestLee @JeremyKWood @TylerAlterman That should be done if and only if your thoughts are fixating on a baseless claim that you don't/can't ask why you believe in. In general asking yourself "why" and being skeptical about the first answer you come up with is the easiest and quite effective for of therapy.

if you're afraid of the environmental impact of birthing a 1st world baby, with some *careful* research & a savings account, you can probably carbon-offset your kid for a lifetime on a middle-class income. ...Or maybe you actually just don't want a baby, and that's OK
