This is Marcus, and his accidental service dog, Gunner.
Marcus served 3 deployments to Afghanistan. For years, he’s woken up at 3am, drenched in sweat, convinced he’s in back in Kandahar.
Gunner came to the family when his owner passed away, which was a neighbor of Marcus. On the first night they had him, Marcus had a nightmare, and Gunner immediately jumped on his chest, and laid on him. For the first time in years, Marcus didn’t thrash, and was able to just breath, despite almost 80lbs of weight on him. Gunner laid on him for 2hrs+ that night.
Marcus’s wife had urged him to get help for years. She was able to catch it on recording, to show to his counselor. The counselor told them what Gunner was doing was called “Pressure Therapy”…which is what PTSD service dogs are trained to do.
Gunner never had training. He just had instincts, and an instant bond. The term, “Man’s best friend” doesn’t cut it sometimes.

One of man’s duties on Earth….to look after God’s creations. That Land Cruiser did an amazing job. Toyota should add "can help pull an elephant from a sink hole" in their adds.😂 The elephant is so exhausted. So happy you could get him out. ❤️

In 1992, a man in shorts and a Nike cap barged past security at the Barcelona Olympics and ran onto the track during the 400m semifinal. His son, British sprinter Derek Redmond, was hopping alone toward the finish line after his hamstring tore mid-race.
Redmond had survived eight operations just to reach that starting line, posted the fastest first round time, and won his quarterfinal. When he went down, he waved off the stretcher and got back up. His father Jim put his arm around him and said: “We started this together, and we’ll finish it together.” They crossed the line dead last, 65,000 people on their feet. Because his father helped him, Derek was disqualified under track rules. The official record lists him as DNF, Did Not Finish.

Notable comments from Montana's Bobby Hacuk, as he steps down as head coach.
*"Dealing with what college football has become is not always enjoyable as a head coach. I just haven't been enjoying it enough. I want to enjoy my career and my job."
*"Dealing with agents and the transient nature of this and the lack of forward thinking by young people.."
*"But as college football has changed over the last couple of years, I've started to embrace my shelf life ending at some point. I've had more days where I didn't enjoy coming to work very recently."

Shaquille O’Neal said, “My stepdad was a Sergeant in the Army, a serious and strong man of character. We had an excellent relationship...
I once played at Madison Square Garden against the New York Knicks in my first season in the NBA.
I had a terrible game.
Afterward, he called me and asked why I played so badly.
He wondered if it was the pressure of facing Patrick Ewing and the Knicks. I told him I felt pressure.
He said, ‘Tomorrow, I want you home at 7:00 AM. Pick me up. We’re going to see a family that has no home.’
On the way, we encountered a family in need.
My stepdad stopped, gave them money for their next meal, and said,
"That’s pressure. You have everything; you’re weak. There’s no pressure in playing basketball and earning millions of dollars. Real pressure is felt by those who don’t know when or where their next meal will come from."
He told me to get out and help that family.
I got out and saw a man with his wife and two children who had just lost their home.
The man was looking for work. He told me he was cutting grass.
I called a friend and asked him to get this man a job.
I called another friend and said I needed an apartment for a family of four, promising to send a check the next day. They needed help.
After that, I never felt pressure in a basketball game again because that family had real pressure.”
