There are winners right here on x. Instead of congratulating them for winning (as students still) Ppl are cursing the initiative and feigning anger that there are no prizes for innovation. This is one. CONGRATULATIONS! I wish the money was much more

A student of Nasarawa State University Keffi has achieved global recognition after emerging as the Grand Prize Winner in the prestigious Huawei ICT Competition (Computing Track), marking a major milestone for both the institution and Nigeria’s growing tech ecosystem. The student, Ademu Abdullahadi, a final-year undergraduate in the Department of Computer Science, secured the top prize after outperforming competitors through exceptional technical skill, resilience, and consistent dedication. His victory highlights the increasing global competitiveness of Nigerian students in information and communication technology. The Huawei ICT Competition, organised by Huawei, is widely regarded as one of the leading global platforms for nurturing ICT talent. It brings together thousands of students from universities worldwide to compete across various tracks, including computing, networking, and cloud technologies. By clinching the Grand Prize in the Computing Track, Ademu has earned the opportunity to represent Nigeria at the global finals in China. The international stage will see him compete against some of the brightest young tech talents from across the world, further placing Nigeria in the spotlight of global innovation. The university community has expressed immense pride in the achievement, describing it as a landmark moment not only for the student but also for the institution and the country. According to a statement released by the institution, Ademu’s success reflects the quality of training and academic excellence within the university’s Computer Science department. “This achievement exemplifies the brilliance, consistency, and hard work of our students. Ademu has set a remarkable example for aspiring tech professionals across the country,” the statement noted. Observers say the victory underscores the growing impact of Nigerian youth in the global digital economy. Over the past few years, students from Nigerian institutions have increasingly excelled in international competitions, signaling a positive shift in the country’s innovation landscape. As he prepares for the global finals, Ademu carries the hopes of a nation eager to see its young talents excel on the world stage. His journey is already inspiring many students and young innovators to pursue careers in technology and strive for excellence. The university has expressed confidence in his ability to make Nigeria proud at the international level, reaffirming its commitment to supporting academic excellence and innovation. #NovexNews #NigeriaTech Photo credit @OfficialNSUK

Big shout-out to Majeed Abdulghanniy, a Computing student from Federal University Oye Ekiti! He beat over 30,000 plus applicants to get shortlisted among only 65 teams. Out of those, just 40 students were selected and each awarded a 50 million naira grant. Majeed was one of the lucky beneficiaries! Congratulations to Him! 🔥👏

About 2 years ago (damn time flies), I open-sourced the detailed schematics of recommended off-grid solar setup based on my experience. I’ve just updated the plans for both the medium-sized and fairly large residential systems to replace components that are currently out of stock These schematics are meant to be a detailed reference guide. They are made up of components I have personally used and tested, right down to the necessary Circuit Breakers and Surge Protection Devices (SPD). Medium solar plan: solarplan-m.openculture.org.ng Fairly large system: solarplan-l.openculture.org.ng I am currently working on a small system schematic, but it’s taking some time because I refuse to recommend equipment I haven't personally used before. In the future, I’ll be launching a wiki to organically share everything I’ve learned from 10 years of experience with residential solar. If you are looking to set up your own system, I also made a complete start-to-finish video walkthrough of a recent install here: youtube.com/watch?v=blDPy4… ⚠️ Safety Disclaimer: These schematics are for reference and educational purposes only. Working with high voltage electrical systems carries severe safety risks. All solar installations should be done by a qualified and licensed installer. 🤝 Full Disclosure: All recommended items were purchased with my own money. I have absolutely no business relationships with the product manufacturers or dealers. The AliExpress links included are affiliate links, meaning I get a small cut if you make a purchase, at no extra cost to you.

🎸 Tuareg Blues, often referred to as Desert Blues, is a hypnotic and deeply evocative genre of music that originates from the Imazighen people of the Sahara Desert, spanning Mali, Niger, Algeria, Libya, Burkina Faso and many other countries. Rooted in centuries-old Imazighen traditions, it merges the haunting melodies of North African Imazighen music with the raw energy of American blues and rock. The Imazighen, have long used music as a means of storytelling, resistance, and cultural preservation. Traditional Imazighen music was played on instruments like the teherdent (a type of lute) and the imzad (a one-stringed violin, traditionally played by women). However, in the late 20th century, as Imazighen communities faced displacement, political struggles, and exile, many young musicians turned to the electric guitar, inspired by the revolutionary sounds of Western blues, rock, and reggae. This fusion created a distinct style-characterized by pentatonic scales, hypnotic rhythms, call-and-response vocals, and the steady, trance-like repetition reminiscent of both Saharan folk chants and Mississippi Delta blues. The influence of artists like Ali Farka Touré, whose Malian blues style bridged African and American blues traditions, also helped shape the genre. The music features driving guitar rhythms, often with reverb-heavy electric guitars that produce a shimmering, almost psychedelic effect. Call-and-response vocals reflect lmazighen oral traditions and communal storytelling. The lyrics are poetic and political, speaking of exile, freedom, rebellion, and the vast beauty of the desert. The hypnotic, repetitive structure of the music creates a trance-like atmosphere, deeply connected to the rhythms of nomadic life and the endless expanse of the Sahara. by Houssaine Ousbouh

“The land is small, the land is this, the land is that…” The land in Frame 1 is it not big enough for proper landscaping? Always excuses Just admit that greenery is not your priority and not part of your design process Well, I did the needful in Frame 2 by adding greenery 🌿
