words just cannot even express how mad i am at this situation and all the mediocre apologies i have seen. language is a powerful entity. learning to use the right words matters because the moment you start softening sexual abuse into vague “family issues” or “domestic problems”, you are already shifting the focus away from the victim and the severity of what is actually being alleged.

See how everyone is crawling out with their apology statements now, this wouldn't have happened if not for the backlash None of these statements feel genuine and nobody is even talking about apologizing to the victim, they just want to save their asses.

@Tawan_V Who is this apology meant for? This wasnt a ‘misunderstanding’. You publicly supported your friend while serious allegations were already out. If you’re going to apologize, direct it to the victim. Statements like this don’t fix the harm. they just reframe it.

@Tawan_V being someones friend doesn't obligate you to publicly support them, especially in this case. And you call yourself an outsider to this situation and the "family relationships involved", then proceed to support someone in the context of a rape allegation. That's irresponsible.
