@_Beora that's a neat way to account for the negative tradeoff of being a OTP. if you're looking at statistics by selecting for the OTP first and not per-champion, how do you calculate the average winrate? like if one OTP has 500 games at 54% winrate and another has 250 games at 60%

It means for example if their champ is banned in 10% of games you take 100 games as a small sample and weigh 10 of those games with their Off WR (Avg WR when an OTP of a champ is not playing their OTP) and then the other 90 games on the OTP winrate
If I have a 45% WR off Ornn but a 55% WR on Ornn and Ornn is banned in 20% of games it would be
0.55*80 + 0.45*20 = ~53% WR

@pearfuzzz Annie is actually super niche above Masters in both EUW and NA - her common links also tend to fall on the very low side of # OTPs above Masters (but played more by non-OTPs)

@arshgoyal13 at some point, the lack of worlds hardware does actually matter for greatness debates. i think it’s shortsighted to discount the value of actually winning worlds, and even among his uncrowned peers, he’s not the only standout

@arshgoyal13 i don’t remember the public perception for msi 24, so i’ll give you that. caps though has yet to win worlds, and even falters in groups. how do you justify placing caps over any of zogk, all of whom have strong arguments for best in their role constantly and also have worlds?

i will say, GEN and BFX definitely underperformed relative to their peak levels -- BLG tomorrow won't be easy. that team is a TOUGH matchup, stylistically.
but if they win tomorrow, Caps enters arguments for being a top 3 player of all time.

@arshgoyal13 i don't doubt that caps is easily top 10, but putting him third when chovy exists and is generally considered the highest peak for a midlaner while also having similar levels of wins seems difficult to defend

@arshgoyal13 the main note is that caps has never been easily in contention for best-in-the-world for his role, whereas several other players with similar accolades and prominence do. what about bin? knight? any of the zogk?
