Today was filled with immense emotion and while I reflect on this momentous achievement, my heart is most grateful for Captain & Rev. Pearson. My parents are my greatest supporters and bestest friends! High School, Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctor of Philosophy ♥️

What happened to “any time, any place”?

And once you’ve learned you have an opp, absolutely do NOT waste time and energy giving a million chances and trying to talk it out. “Frenemies” concept does not exist for Black women—ppl literally want to destroy our character. An opp is always an opp. Move accordingly.

Black women if you’re reading this, here’s what I learned that I wish someone told me when I started the workforce:

Dear Black Women— let these institutions fall on their face. Let these people eat themselves. Do not take on these roles without considering the social, emotional, and more importantly the physiological implications. Being the “first” anything has never really been worth it.
