@aaaaaaaaaasshh @jimbo2556 What hasn’t been mentioned much is the unknown of the US owners who if all aligned can dictate whether we buy / sell players? A little more transparency would be hugely helpful rather than piling it all on Parish 🤔

Dunno how Glasner and Guehi move on from this tbh. Luckily it’s a World Cup year and Guehi will be focussed on that but we’ve lost 35m, our manager’s trust and pissed off our captain in one day. #CPFC

@cd_dev_p @Beniesta_ But they didn’t know that Liverpool were going to wait until last day of the window like the big clubs tend to… 🥵

@Beniesta_ It's a predicament of the boards own making. We knew we either were going to have to sell Guehi or let him go free next year. They've had months to get a replacement in.

The board can very much just say to Glasner we let you keep Guehi, it’s cost us £35m so the pressure is now on Glasner to deliver results so we earn £35m extra in revenue If he then fails, the board has every right next year to go well we can’t spend big as we listened to you and let Guehi go for free Glasner also needs to extend for that to happen

@BobbyManzi Is there any scenario where Guehi commits to this season, but signs a new contract with a big uplift in wages but also includes a £40m (even £30 million) release clause so we get the same fee for him?

Comment: I’m all for holding off judgment on a club’s business until the window shuts (in fact I recommend it), and I understand the financial realities at play. But if Palace sell Guehi now, it would be bordering on negligence. You cannot lose your talisman and captain in the final nine days of the window and expect Oliver Glasner to efficiently rebuild cohesion. Glasner’s system is intricate, players need time to integrate. Adding depth late in the window is not ideal, but it is workable. However, if Guehi is sold, Palace will need to get two new starters functioning in the system — an unreasonable ask with a Thursday-Sunday season already underway. Glasner is right, Guehi cannot be sold. There is the silver lining of a week-long international break once the window closes, offering a short opportunity to bed in any new arrivals. The squad is already alarmingly thin. On Thursday, Palace travel to Fredrikstad for a decisive Conference League tie without a recognised left-sided attacker. Creativity is in short supply, there is no unpredictability in the squad. Glasner is working with a hand tied behind his back. With Eze gone, Palace no longer boast the best XI in their history, more like a best ten. That is not a criticism of Justin Devenny, who filled in on the left on Thursday. The 21-year-old is a technical and efficient midfielder, but does not fit the profile of what Palace ought to have in their front three. Further sales (namely Guehi) may be good for business, but will damage performance on the pitch — certainly in the short term. Palace left business late last year and it clicked eventually, but it was a slog to get to that point. Glasner needs depth and a dribbler on the left. If Palace are serious about competing on four fronts this season, they require four signings before the closure of the window on September 1st. Otherwise, they risk wasting what could be Glasner’s final season at the club.

@chrisbashford7 @shave_stuart I think he has been backed. Maybe not in the most perfect way in terms of timing but Wharton, Kamada, Munoz, Lacroix, Sarr, Nketiah & Riad are all for Glasner. We have maxed out the credit card. Need to sell & reinvest, which we hopefully will. Big week ahead now! #cpfc ❤️💙

@28Darran @HLTCO Apart from Brentford, Bournemouth, Fulham, Wolves & West Ham. None of them have improved, most have sold their best players and not replaced them. Definitely a big week but half the Premier League have struggled to strengthen, not just us #cpfc

@HLTCO Squad too thin…. Praying that we keep glasner.. realistically he is too good .. why hasn’t the board listened to him.. one or two injuries ( it will happen ) and we’re bottom 3.. everyone else has improved…Trying to keep the winners together, would always be impossible

Oliver Glasner’s quotes are genuinely alarming. It’s rare you hear a manager speaking as directly as that. I’m gutted. patreon.com/posts/13707009…

@SH20CPFC We HAVE backed the manager with Wharton, Kamada, Munoz, Lacroix, Sarr, Nketiah & Riad. Fit Riad, Kamada & Doucoure in the match day squad yesterday and we’re serious. We have maxed out the credit card. Need to sell & reinvest, which we will. It’s going very well! #cpfc ❤️💙

You can see why everyone wants Palace's players - the team the wealthy clubs hate to play You can also see why there are doubts about Chelsea going from world champions to English champions Where the Eze situation is at: independent.co.uk/sport/football…

@eaglessss__ @BeakyLover No but I would also argue that Tyrick Mitchell isn’t our best left back of all time on that criteria! 😉 Big Nige did it over 7 years, Deano has had an incredible year no doubt, with more to come to secure the title of best ever! 😅

@tyrickmitch @selhurstpaw1 @SWPalace Also have to remember that only non-Top 6 clubs to win the FA Cup in last 30 years…Portsmouth, Wigan and Leicester…all relegated quickly. They all thought they’d ‘push on’ 😅

@selhurstpaw1 @SWPalace But at the same time, you have to see the side that. We just won a major trophy, we have European competition and therefore more games and we also have our greatest ever manager who’s already been sniffed by other clubs. Why waste this opportunity now??
