Yosemite in the spring means raging waterfalls. Take the mist trail up to Vernal Falls for one of the most amazing hikes but be prepared to get soaked. Getting this shot meant crouching in a corner and bursting a few shots and then turning away to shield my camera from the mist and wipe my lens. Did this a few times until I was able to capture a usable photo.

Trump demonstrates he doesn’t understand the court’s ballroom ruling. He says he can do whatever he wants because it’s all privately funded by “very rich people.” It’s not about the money - the White House doesn’t belong to him.

When a cultish movement the size of MAGA begins to fray at the edges - and I don't know there's ever been one quite like this - cognitive dissonance sets in. Many more Trump supporters are now uncomfortable than only a short time before. And many more are uncomfortable than are letting on. It's very difficult for any group to reconcile that dissonance in a way that changes their world view. This is especially true with MAGA, whose world view is anchored by emotion more than by reasoned thought. I've been listening closely to the messaging from Fox and other RW amplifiers, and I do see some flailing, some overreaching, some pivoting, some lies that are more unconvincing, even some infighting. Because they know that the cracks in MAGA could morph to fissures. In all the time I've monitored and evaluating collective human behavior, this is the first time that I can actually smell cognitive dissonance.

@BiankaB12 My word; the list of things MAGA is incapable of grasping is near-infinite and includes gravity, sentence structure, clouds and linear time. There is simply not enough time and resources to attempt pounding global alliances and supply chains into them and we need to stop trying.

MAGA doesn’t seem to grasp what’s happening to them - or what they’re doing to America. Their movement is systematically dismantling the foundations of American power: its alliance system, its supply chains, the dollar’s reserve currency status, and the global trust in its institutions. That’s the very infrastructure that made America the dominant power of the last 80 years. So, unless MAGA is totally and irreversibly destroyed and deep structural reforms prevent another rogue president from taking office, there is no way back. History taught us that this is how empires fall - not from external invasion, but from within. I don't think that institutional resistance to MAGA is coming through impeachment or prosecution. The only cards left to play are engineered failure and manufactured consequences: > Trump promised a booming economy and low inflation. What Americans will get is crushing inflation and an unaffordable life - turning his own voters, especially independents, against him. > Trump promised to end wars. What Americans will get is proliferation of wars, higher military spending, and compounding misery. He promised everything to everyone and the only strategy left on the table is to weaponise those promises against him. With that said, the rest of the world will suffer collateral damage - that’s unavoidable. But the calculus is brutal and I think in 20-30 years, we will realise it was the least worst option: MAGA has become an existential threat to the Western order, and the only way to save said order is to destroy them politically - completely, and permanently. The people that chose to die on that hill - for whatever personal or ideological reason - will have a very tough life regardless of the outcome. Their lives would be shit whether or not Trump & MAGA are destroyed or prevail.

Pentagon One thing that is very obvious to me is the degradation of Pentagon communication sector. This kind of institutional communication, like any other during wartime, fabricates information in its favor. But years ago, it used to do so competently. Today, it is no longer even capable of selecting the images it posts, publishing several clear images of Iranian decoys. It has also contradicted itself more than once during this war about numbers and events What is happening to America?
