@support_a_teach @Mrs_TypeA They stay behind their closed office doors all day. We have to schedule an appointment to meet with them. If behaviors arise the counselors or our wellness coach intercede.

@support_a_teach There’s so much focus on staff building positive relationships with students but what about admin/leadership building relationships with their staff?

@support_a_teach Why are we excusing disruptive, disrespectful, and violent behavior and continuing to praise PBIS?

Instead of the principal standing and staring at you, clipboard in hand… I think they should observe by joining in on the class. Sit with the kids or coteach a lesson. Do the activity or help plan an activity. Then they can see your whole process. That feels more authentic.

If someone in a relationship said they felt unsafe, belittled, financially-abused, or emotionally traumatized you would tell them to leave immediately. But when it’s a teacher talking about their job, you question their character and beg them to stay.

We spend over $8 Billion dollars a year on teacher attrition (turnover) and probably more this year. Imagine if we spent the money on actually trying to retain teachers instead.
