The Israeli Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir warned the government that the IDF is overstretched fighting on multiple fronts, with rising troop demands and a growing manpower shortage (including exhausted reserves). Without new conscription laws and extended service, he says the military risks "collapsing in on itself" internally. This is based on reports from Israeli media like Times of Israel and Ynet.

A young woman broke down in tears after allegedly being defrauded of about GHS 8,000 by mobile money scammers who posed as officials from MTN.
According to the victim, she received a phone call from individuals claiming to be from the telecom company, who threatened to block her mobile money account. Fearing the consequences, she said she was instructed to visit multiple mobile money agents to transfer funds in order to “secure” her account.
In a state of panic, the woman complied and sent the money in several transactions before later realising she had been deceived.

Be like now people dey discover my CV. No google me oo. You go shock.
Either that or you didn’t realize that it was possible to be consulted professionally on your expertise and offer same to your country; while also criticising and demonstrating against your country’s Government when they go wrong.
Anyway, as I dey here Dey work on this historic Resolution, I dey prepare another lawsuit against the same Government and Foreign Ministry.
Just as I kept suing the Government and even NDC in 3 cases all the while I have been working on this Reparations issue.
May Ghana win!

@dr_bandak You may do all your best with every process but Ghanaian lecturers recommendation will make the process almost impossible to complete the application. My situation

6 admissions out of 7 applications.
It all started when he walked up to me at a conference and said
“I want to get into a top program, and I am told you can help.”
He came to the US from Ghana 🇬🇭 for a 6-week conference.
We started the journey that resulted in the message he sent yesterday.…
He has offers and good funding from:
→ Johns Hopkins
→ Harvard
→ Columbia
→ Emory
→ Washington University
→ George Washington University
Results like this do not happen by accident.
They come from:
→ strong execution
→ real commitment to the process
I am proud of him.
Sometimes, one conversation can really change the course of an application cycle.
💬 What do you think makes the biggest difference in a strong graduate school application?
Can you guess the only school he didn't get into?

@apaji_alfred @dr_bandak Actually weekly assignments, monthly assignments and even semester assignments were common in University of Ghana when I was a student there
English

@dr_bandak Great list! Mine was weekly assignments with 11:59 deadlines. What do you mean I will be doing this through the semester and it is heavily graded?😂😂

As international students, many things surprise us.
Coming from a different academic system, I found adjusting to life in the U.S. to be full of unexpected moments.
Here are 4 things that genuinely surprised me as an international student:
✅ 1. Formula sheets in exams
My first academic surprise came during my first biostatistics exam.
I had spent so much time memorizing every formula I thought I would need.
Then the professor said something I did not expect:
→ “We will provide the formulas. You need to understand how and when to use them.”
That changed how I thought about learning.
Lesson: understanding matters more than cramming.
✅ 2. Open-book and open-notes exams
The second surprise was open-book and open-notes exams.
At first, I thought this meant the exam would be easier.
It was not.
You could bring your notes, yes.
But if you did not understand the material, the notes would not save you.
The questions were less about recalling facts and more about applying concepts.
Lesson: open-book exams still demand real understanding.
✅ 3. Rescheduling an exam
This felt strange at first, but later it made sense.
Academic life can be intense, and I was surprised to learn that if you were genuinely unwell, you could email a professor and request a rescheduled exam.
In many cases, they would actually make arrangements for another date or time.
That level of flexibility was new to me.
It showed me that the system could be both demanding and humane.
Lesson: Sometimes support is available, but you have to ask for it.
✅ 4. Questioning a grade
I still remember emailing a professor because I felt there had been a mistake in my grade.
I was honestly hesitant to send that email.
But I did.
She reviewed my records, rechecked everything, and my grade was updated within 48 hours.
That experience stayed with me.
I realized that respectfully questioning a grade was not seen as disrespect.
It was part of advocating for yourself.
Lesson: It is okay to speak up when something does not seem right.
What was your most surprising academic experience?

Yesterday was special. Thank you for the love, messages, and prayers, I truly appreciate it.
As part of the celebration, 1,000 followers were randomly selected to receive gold bars. More than a gift, it’s a reminder of the value we must all learn to build and keep.
To the teams across RNAQ Holdings, our partners, stakeholders, and my family, thank you for your unwavering support.
We keep building.
