The Palestinian Authority has published the draft constitution of the "State of Palestine", and it shows it's not serious about peace. 1⃣ It claims Jerusalem as its capital and commits to "protecting its Islamic and Christian sanctities", and the omission of Jewish holy sites is of course no accident. Israel cannot tolerate a foreign entity making claim to its own capital city. 2⃣ It declares Islam as the official religion and invokes Islamic Sharia as a primary source of legislation. It promises to respect the rights of Christians — and again, by omission, not Jews. They want to found a theocracy. 3⃣Insanely, it commits the state to "ensuring the right of return for refugees", i.e. relocating its own population to the sovereign territory of a neighboring state, Israel. It claims sovereignty over a Palestinian state and a right to resettle its people in another state. Article 12 is a demand to abolish the State of Israel even after hypothetical Palestinian statehood. 4⃣It commits to continue giving protection and care to terrorists in Israeli jails and dead terrorists ("martyrs"), despite promises of reform 5⃣ Despite demanding self-determination, it admits the Palestinians are not a nation and "Palestine" is not their homeland. Article 1 says the land is part of a bigger Arab homeland, and that the Palestinian Arabs are part of a broader "Arab nation". In other words, they want self-determination not for a nation, but for people who are part of a nation with 21 states.
