I've joined @meleemarkets as their growth lead. Rejoining forces with some of my favorite people: @itsmaximilian @NickPreszler @kaitrias @zen_llama @kermit5329 and @entheox. Why Melee? AI is compressing information cycles to near zero. When information moves that fast, the only thing that keeps up is a market. Prediction markets are the rails built for that world. There has never been a better moment to build this. Melee is a category defining prediction market with *redacted* making it unlike anything else out there and uniquely positioned to dominate. When I started working at McDonald's at 15 it was actually legal to pay me less than minimum wage (because fuck me). Regardless, it cost slightly more than a half hour of work to afford a 2 cheeseburger meal. Now it costs 1.2 hours of minimum wage.

Boomers seem to forget that fast food used to be a normal, everyday expense for them because it was affordable. You could get a burger easily on minimum wage, it wasn’t some fancy treat you had once a year as a reward for pulling yourself up by your bootstraps.

Welcome to Blue Collar Builders! Cory LaChance inspired me to start a series spotlighting folks in the trade who are building software using AI. Cory normally works with chemical plants and refineries, but now he's building AI software for his company.... with no pervious experience writing code. He built a full agentic application that industrial contractors are using every day. It reads isometric drawings and automatically extracts every weld count, every material spec, every commodity code. My favorite thing he said was, "I did this with zero outside help other than the AI. My favorite tools are screenshots, step by step instructions, and asking Claude to explain things like I'm five." I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did. And I can't wait to meet more Blue Collar Builders.

in parimutuels, being early does not guarantee your payout. later capital can enter the same pool and dilute your payout from $100 to $1. fine for simple betting pools that can close before the event starts. a problem for modern traders who expect real-time price discovery.
