Why is pest control the best industry? Each tech can service >$400k in a year Quarterly services cost $125 and take 20 minutes to complete Compare it to trash pickup where they charge $40 a month and service weekly. Labor is cheap Products are cheap Margins are insane

Question- are we looking at last years EBITDA, TTM, or last three years average when we’re talking acquisitions? I feel like when I hit into the game everybody preached 3 string years of financials but it seems like now everybody is buying based off what the company did last year.

Residential HVAC M&A comps this year Ranging $1M → $100M+ EBITDA ~18.5x Champions ($135M+ EBITDA) ~14x+ Sierra ($15M+ EBITDA) ~11x Proprietary ($4M+ EBITDA) ~7x Proprietary (<$1M EBITDA)

Something that has worked well for our business is that I am mainly in charge of the finances but my partner spends most of the money. It keeps us both accountable. He knows if the credit card bill is way high or if we are sitting on a ton of inventory, I am going to be asking questions so he starts in top of that stuff. It also forces me to have budgets and know our numbers so I know if anything is out of whack. He’s usually justified in all of his spending and I stay in top of things. Checks and balances where neither of us can get lazy.

@theppcdude lol we have 0 VAs. Performance is as easy as a sales dashboard in our CRM. Compensation is run weekly for initial services and monthly for recurring. Takes me about 20 minutes to pay all sales reps. I do it all myself.

Update on this: They put on $50k in revenue over the last 30 days. They also decided to stay here and sell with us. They like the market, our service, and how we treat them. We also gave them a commission increase. They didn’t even knock one of the weeks last month because they were getting ready to travel across the country then decided to stay with us last second. They will add another $500k in revenue from simply knocking doors.

Two sales reps just called our office 30 minutes ago. Said they had door to door experience and wanted to make a few bucks before they head out to sell with their team this summer in another state. The already stopped by the office and signed contracts. Hoping they put on ~$70k in revenue over the next 4 weeks before they head out of here. Can’t wait to quote this with an update in 30 days.

We will do over 1000 jobs this month. I couldn't imagine scheduling this out on pen paper. Thank goodness this tool is built into our crm.

@pestctrlguy Been following for a while. Do you have a price in mind you’ll sell for? If you can get 8x edbitda today vs 4x ebitda in a couple years worth it to sell today?

@PatrickC1995 Professional athletes ARE THE EXPLOITED LABORERS. Do you have any idea how much team owners are making off their blood sweat and tears?

One of the biggest mental blocks of the left is their inability to think about value creation in any way other than manual labor. A good counter-example is the professional athlete, or pop-star. Who did Tayler Swift exploit to become a billionaire?
𐌁𐌉Ᏽ 𐌕𐌉𐌌𐌉@OrevaZSN

No one “earns” a billion dollars. No one can work a billion times harder than anyone else. There is no good, ethical, or righteous billionaire. That kind of wealth can only be accumulated through the exploitation of the working class. No exceptions.
