@GoonerTaIk Would improve left side. Upgrade on Martinelli with similar profile (pace/work rate) but more clinical. Would open defences for Gyokeres based on teams can’t overload one side with Saka and/or squeeze up on Gyokeres. Very smart signing

I guess I’m in the minority, but I’d love for us to sign Anthony Gordon. His end product has lacked at times, but he has all of the raw attributes to explode in the right team. His mental and physical alertness is a step ahead of most players. Incredible pace and reaction time.
GoonerTalk@GoonerTaIk

Anthony Gordon is such a brilliant footballer. Fast, skilful, alert, unpredictable. He’ll get a move to one of the biggest teams in the country, no doubt about it.

Have never seen something like this in cricket. Have you? Just imagine if Carey getting Bairstow's wicket this way in the second Ashes Test.

@sammyp1985 @johncrossmirror PL who have lost the plot here. They set a precedent before Xmas by allowing games to be called off and now clubs will all ask the question. No games should have been allowed to be off but now we are here!

@sammyp1985 @WilsonFC2012 Correct. The reason Foakes isn’t playing is because he’s not as good as Buttler or Bairstow. Those guys average similar to other WK in world cricket.

@WilsonFC2012 The state of people like you and the replies to this, prob the same people who cried when Pope kept in NZ. Buttler is 100% the best wicket keeper batter at England disposal. He’s had a poor series but who hasn’t. The obsession with Ben Foakes is amazing, he’s not the answer.

Is it slightly worrying that Ollie Pope kept better than Jos Buttler has all series? #Ashes

@charles_watts Charles. As much as fans don’t want to hear it, the loss of Xhaka is huge for the way he wants to play. Left sided CM who covers and his ball retention Is higher/more progressive than other options there now. He is vital to the shape Arteta wants

You hoped the Spurs game would be the moment to ignite the season. It felt fresh, a real momentum builder. But seen little in the two games since to suggest it wasn’t just a one-off. Arsenal have reverted to type since and that’s been very disappointing.

Thought that was a really worrying performance last night. Reminded me of England against Hungary when Southgate tried to start with the extra attacker. Really dismal and underwhelming with almost a full strength team. Arsenal still an enigma under Arteta. Plan remains unclear.

@_thewkcoach Absolutely. He’s still very young and no doubt wasn’t supposed to be keeping in this series. Wish there was some appreciation that it’s not as easy as it looks!

@petebevan This was the example shown, no other one was given. Going from first class to test cricket is a big step so it’s bound to take some time to adjust and change things. Batters and bowlers are forever changing small things and feel that keeping should be similar.

JAMES BRACEY Simon Doull just did a little piece on Bracey and how, in his opinion, Bracey wasn’t watching the ball into his gloves enough, with this take used to show what he was talking about. (1/4)

@arseblog @gunnerblog Are we at a point where Arteta should really know the best way to get the best out of Auba? essentially play as a wing back on Saturday? Trying to please Laca?

@_thewkcoach @WK_Union Absolutely fine on tracks that have true bounce and standing well back! Wouldn’t advise on wickets that have up and down movement

Starting to see more and more keepers on the circuit starting with their hands apart. Not something new, but interesting to see it become more regularly used - more comfortable and relaxed perhaps, Das looking more like a fielder at point. #NZvBAN

@petebevan @WilsonFC2012 @InsideEdgeCrick He’s not on the tour but is on the tour.... he wasn’t named in the squad but out for rehab. If he’s fit swap him for Lawrence although I want to see him given a go.

@JonDunhamNT Jon, where do you see the rules for a club from a Tier 3 area playing a Tier 2 area side. We at the AFCRD Academy have some questions? Boston away this weekend?
