@Highwayman114 No, they contribute around £25bn, and they get most of it back in benefits like free passes, winter fuel, NHS, free prescription etc etc.

I have just read a report that in the UK that over 65's are contributing over £60 billion to the UK economy by working past retirement age, £6.8 billion of which is income tax and NI, not quite the drain on the taxpayer after all
