@peterhendry13 Argyresthia sp. The angle is giving the sheen a strange look, but I'd guess it's the golden form of A goedartella.

Couple of moths from last night. Clifden Nonpariel and Box-tree (have had regular sightings of the Box including white version). Really pleased with the Clifeden though.

Important to repost this occasionally - a reminder that however much good work people put in to conserve bird populations, there are other ways to boost populations dramatically. #birds #cats #population #wildlife #nature

@peterhendry13 @BritishMoths @JLowenWildlife Yes it is a regular occurrence now as the workers leave the nest (They have now fulfilled their role and so are left flying around aimlessly). They regularly hover around our house wall and will pick off fairly large moths that are resting there. I try and pot them all up now.

Found this Wasp killing a Flesh-fly recently. Worryingly I think they have been entering the moth trap overnight and killing moths. Is this a common occurrence? In fact I saw a Wasp this morning attack a Large Yellow Underwing. @FlyinginFordham @BritishMoths @JLowenWildlife

@JLowenWildlife Hi James I had one on the 7 June in garden trap (VC57) S.Derbyshire lifer for me. By the way enjoyed “Much Ado About Mothing” and “A Gateway Guide” has been really useful in helping with IDs.

The Daily Moth 514. The classy micro called Metalampra italica was unknown in the UK until 2003, but has since spread rapidly. I’ve seen it at sev places in SE England and E Anglia, inc regularly in my garden. Who has had one (or more) at home? #MothsMatter #MuchAdoAboutMothing
