🌕 The figure eight trajectory isn't arbitrary. It's called a free return trajectory designed so that if every engine fails completely, gravity alone brings the crew home. The two Earth orbits first allow mission control to verify all systems before committing to the lunar phase. Once Orion slingshots around the far side of the Moon, the crew will be completely out of radio contact with Earth for approximately 30 minutes the first communication blackout experienced by humans since Apollo. At maximum distance they will be roughly 10,000km past the Moon's far side farther from Earth than any human since Gene Cernan stepped off the lunar surface in December 1972. The physics hasn't changed. The courage required hasn't either.!

Pierluigi Collina: “I think there’s an excessive gap between the opportunities for the shooter and the goalkeeper. On average, 75% of penalties end in goals. Plus, there’s the chance of a rebound off the goalkeeper. One solution is the ‘one shot’ rule, similar to what we see in penalty shootouts after extra time. No rebounds. Either you score, or the game resumes with a goal kick. This would also eliminate the spectacle we often see before a penalty is taken, with everyone crowding around the area. It looks like horses at the starting gate before a race.”

ROG WRITES: Mo Salah was part footballer, part chess grandmaster 🇪🇬👑 He won eight trophies in nine years at Liverpool. At times, he scored at a pace so sizzling, it felt like he couldn’t get out of bed without either setting or breaking another record. Watching him cut in from the right, everyone in the world knew what he was about to do, but no one could stop him, just as he could not stop himself from picking up the annual yellow card for taking his shirt off. There is no better way to pay tribute to him than through the words of John Oliver, a man whom I know will be devastated today. He wrote when inducting Mo into Time Magazine’s 100 Most influential people list, “Mo Salah is a better human being than he is a football player. And he’s one of the best football players in the world.” ❤️
