I can’t believe that City are holding the FA Youth Cup final against United in the 7,000 capacity Joie Stadium, citing that ongoing construction problems have ruled out the use of the Etihad. In our last appearance in a final, United had over 72,000 in attendance. United have asked to switch the match to Old Trafford, but City have declined. For some of those lads this could be the biggest game of their career. City’s stance has possibly denied them the chance to play it on the biggest stage. #MUFC #UTFR #GGMU #ManchesterUnited #ManUtd #ManUnited

Carrick deserves every bit of praise, of course, but I just want to give Steve Holland a special mention. The tactical genius behind the scenes. He has completely transformed this side from a tactical point of view, and he deserves so much praise for getting #MUFC back in the UCL

How the fk are people working full time on minimum wage in the UK meant to actually survive alone? The maths just doesn't add up:
Take home pay after tax, national insurance and pension contributions for a 37.5 hour work week (because let's face it, all these employers who really care about you don't pay you for your breaks so you're not getting a full 40 hours) is around £1700
You're lucky to rent anywhere nowadays under £800.
Council Tax is now around £220 a month.
Utilities are at least another £350.
Then there's the weekly food shop, you're looking at a minimum of £70 a week.
Just with the basics in this scenario you're left with £50 to last you the whole month. And that's without even adding transport or anything going wrong.
Minimum.wage in the UK does not cover minimum living requirements. Something really needs to change. No wonder nobody wants to work anymore.

The Dire Straits song “Sultans of Swing” was born on an ordinary night in 1977, in a nearly empty pub in south London.
Mark Knopfler, who was teaching English at the time and had just formed the band with his brother David, John Illsley, and Pick Withers, went inside to shelter from the rain. In a corner of the venue, a group of aging Dixieland jazz musicians was playing with total dedication for just a handful of drunk patrons who weren’t even paying attention to them.
The band sounded mediocre, dressed in outdated suits and with no audience to applaud them. But at the end of their performance, the singer announced in all seriousness: “Good evening and thank you… We are the Sultans of Swing.”
Knopfler found the contrast between the humble, dreary scene and that grandiose, pompous name quite amusing. He went home and that very night began writing the lyrics, describing those passionate musicians who played for the love of music, regardless of whether anyone was listening. He first composed the music on a National Steel guitar, but the song truly came to life when he played it on his newly purchased 1961 Fender Stratocaster: the riffs and chord changes flowed effortlessly.
“Sultans of Swing” was one of the tracks on the demo they recorded on a shoestring budget at Pathway Studios. They sent it to the radio, and DJ Charlie Gillett put it on rotation, which piqued a record label’s interest. It became the first single from Dire Straits’ self-titled debut album in 1978. Although it took a few months to take off, it ended up being a worldwide hit and launched the band to stardom.
One of the greatest songs of all time.

Michael Carrick has restored Manchester United to the Champions League. He has restored hope and pride. He has just won a huge game against ancient rivals. Carrick now has 10 wins, two draws and only two defeats in 14 games in charge. A team that bordered on a distressed asset … looking a force again. An academy that could have worried about the pathway for prospects being blocked…have hope again.
A fanbase frustrated by a team drifting … energised again. A club together again, Manchester United. As job auditions go, Michael Carrick could hardly have done much more. Deserves the job. United have tried bigger names and not fared as well. Carrick wants the job. He cares about the club. He has good coaches like Steve Holland supporting him. It’s Carrick, you know how hard he’ll work to make it work. #MUNLIV
