So the new edition is out today with 20% new content and perfect fodder for anyone driving #digital and #businessagility - three years is a long time and a lot to update. Neil Perkin and me spent a good deal of lockdown making this version more useful.

@emollick It could, if it remains fun (your projects are always fun), we're losing critical and creative thinking skills (Ai makes us lazy) so we need to better understand how that gets passed on.

There are reasons formal education could become more important as AI gets better. Learning through informal apprenticeship (entry level white collar work) is being undermined by AI, as is ability to signal early work quality. We are pretty good at both those things in higher ed

Here's a HUGE example of a transcript - a 15+ hour session I ran from my iPhone where I used Claude Code Web to port MicroQuickJS by Fabrice Bellard to Python. I should probably write more about that project! static.simonwillison.net/static/2025/cl…

I built a new Python CLI tool called claude-code-transcripts that can create nice readable HTML versions of your Claude Code sessions, both local and pulled from Claude Code for web, and makes it easy to publish them online too simonwillison.net/2025/Dec/25/cl…

Stop paying Arcads $11 for a single AI UGC video 🤯 Yeah, I just built my own Arcads inside Airtable. Same features, fraction of the cost. Perfect for e-comm brands & agencies who need AI UGC at scale without bleeding cash. Here's the problem: Arcads charges $11 per video (!!!) Yeah, there's a reason you can't locate their pricing ANYWHERE on their homepage. That's $110/month for just 10 videos. If you're testing creative at any real volume, the math stops working fast. So I built my own system: → Actor library with 30+ ready-to-use AI characters → Create custom actors with Nano Banana Pro → Generate variations (same character, different scenes) → Add products directly into your actor's hands → Quick mode: 8-second hooks via Veo 3.1 → Extended mode: longer talking-head testimonials → B-roll generator for lifestyle clips → Direct integration with ElevenLabs to select any voice The cost? ~40 cents per second for Veo 3 hooks. ~11 cents per second for AI avatar videos. That's a few bucks per video vs. $11. No monthly video caps. No per-video pricing killing your margins. I recorded a full 20-minute breakdown showing exactly how this works—the actor library, UGC generator, B-roll creator, everything. Want to see the full walkthrough + learn how to get access? > Comment "UGC" > Like this post And I'll send it over (must be following so I can DM)

Been using Cursor way longer than I thought (nearly 2 years), it's changed so much, way easier now with some amazing results. I always wanted to build but didn't have the time to learn, Cursor made it easier and faster. Thank you @cursor_ai

I just put together 10 of my top AI automation workflows in one place 🤯 (honestly I should probably be charging for this) Most DTC brands & agencies burn months trying to build AI automations themselves. Wrong prompts. Wrong tools. Broken workflows. So I packaged up 10 ready-to-use AI automations that do the work for you. All inside one database. Grab what you need, when you need it. Here's the full list: YouTube Research AI Agent → Pulls trending videos by keyword → AI breaks down hooks, angles, themes → Everything organized in Airtable Instagram Reels AI Agent → Scrapes top Reels in any niche → Gemini extracts creative insights → Comment sentiment included Sora 2 Cameos + n8n → Same AI character across videos → Automated UGC campaign builds → Airtable tracking built in Nano Banana + Veo 3 + n8n → Bulk AI video generation → One product photo → 50+ videos → Auto-stored and sorted Claude + Facebook Ads MCP → AI-powered ads analyst → Full performance reports on demand → Just ask questions in plain English Facebook Ads Spy + n8n → Daily competitor ad tracking → AI breakdowns of hooks, CTAs, offers → Delivered straight to Slack Sora 2 Consistent Characters → Same creator across multiple videos → Brand consistency without the hassle → Full Loom walkthrough included TikTok Research AI Agent → Trending content scraped daily → Hook and angle extraction → Engagement metrics tracked HeyGen Long-Form UGC → 1-minute+ AI avatar videos → Talking-head testimonials → Product demos at scale Nano Banana Static Ads → 1,000+ ad variations on autopilot → Bulk image generation → Built for creative testing Every workflow comes with the n8n templates + Airtable bases so you can launch fast. This is the exact stack DTC brands & agencies are using to 10x content output. Want the full database? > Comment "WORKFLOWS" > Like this post And I'll send it over (must be following so I can DM)

Contact sheet prompting is the hottest AI video technique right now 🤯 One image in → 6 consistent frames out → cinematic video ads in minutes. But everyone's doing it manually. I automated the entire workflow in n8n + Airtable. Here's why contact sheet prompting is blowing up: You give AI one reference image, and it generates a grid of consistent shots — same face, same outfit, different angles. Instant storyboarding, full creative control, no photoshoots. The problem? It's super tedious: → Write the prompt manually → Generate the contact sheet → Crop each frame by hand → Feed frames into a video model one by one → Repeat for every product This n8n automation handles all of it: → Upload character image + product image → AI analyzes both and writes the contact sheet prompt → Nano Banana Pro generates a 6-frame grid → System extracts each frame automatically → Kling 2.5 generates smooth transitions between frames → You get 5 video clips ready to stitch Approval checkpoints at every stage, no surprises. What lands in your Airtable: → AI-generated creative prompt → Core hero image (model + product) → 6-frame contact sheet → 5 cinematic video clips → Full control before each generation step Contact sheet prompting on autopilot. I filmed a 20 minute Loom video showing you exactly how I set it up. Want the Loom + the complete n8n workflow + Airtable base? > Comment "SHEET" > Like this post And I'll send it over (must be following so I can DM)

@dsiroker Congrats on the acquisition. But you need to refund regional customers when you unilaterally terminate a service they paid for. I spent nearly $300 on an annual Limitless Pro subscription in September in the UK. This is not on…

prototyping > planning code is so cheap to write that the best way to build a new feature is 3-4 prototypes that you build and throw out before you even start to plan. that way your plan incorporates all of the learnings and failures from the prototypes, can you're more likely to build something great in one shot

still working on verifying bots by IP but removed them from the main stats, not as exciting as I thought but still not bad for a brand new domain/launch

I feel I discovered an emergent capability of GPT-5. I need to do some more testing, but if this proves to be correct, it's pretty wild.
