Found out yesterday the last of my local tackle shops is to close soon. That's 7 I believe gone now in my area. Angling superstores have a lot to answer for! How the hell are we going to get kids into fishing without somewhere local for them to get their bits and advice.

Remember when you need a score of Lug or 1/2 of maggots there won't be any local shops left,so you'll have to get them on the Internet also!

Reminder that fishing on folkestone pier is DOVER S A A members only. Memberships and day tickets from the shop. Open 7am to 6pm 7 days.

Folkestone pier top deck now fully open at last,available fishing areas on end and lower deck variable depending on day of week.

Mackerel showing at last in good numbers when waters clear on the pier & beach. Odd sole,smooth hound,scad,dogs,pout,gurnard.

Here comes the summer, the first mackerel on Sunday +herrings plaice dabs pout &whiting at the weekend on the pier,plaice &rays on beach.

Pier fishing hours now back to 7am-6pm. Lots of dabs with whiting,dogs,pout and plaice when the waters clear.

Pier update,lower deck all open and more of top deck now available. Top deck access is via the lighthouse at present. Lots of fish as well.

Folkestone pier update. Fishing 7am-4PM on lower deck and on top deck at the lighthouse. Rest of top deck closed due to storm damage.
