Just had to evacuate house in Stillwater. Praying for all involved. Why do we not have satellite imagery of hot spots providing real time data to firefighters if we can do it for methane emissions? With wind gusts of 60+ mph embers are flying 2-3 miles away staying lit and starting more fires all over the place. Be safe all my Oklahomies

A fire burned through our Lake Carl Blackwell Mesonet site during 3:41-3:45pm. One of our thermometers measured a 1-minute average temperature of 173 F at 3:42pm. The 2 meter anemometer is now reporting 0, which indicates that it likely was completely melted. #okwx #okmesonet

The only place for fast text updates are the county Emergency Management agencies, Law Enforcement social media sites, National Weather Service and the Watch Duty app. The Satellite-derived fire information is not refreshed often enough to provide accurate or emergency information.

@NWSNorman Where are you pulling these data from? Trying to get granular real-time maps for my parents who are just NW of Stillwater.

@petewilz But, as someone trained as an engineer, it’s also been confusing to me until I took a couple Econ classes.

@petewilz Many of the exercises concentrate on monopolistic and optimal outcomes. Thus, the function is showing the maximum marginal price (marginal cost) create given quantity—the independent variable on the x axis.

Something about supply and demand charts always confuses me since they don't use the normal pattern of placing the independent variable on the x axis. Do other people have this experience? Is it because I was trained in a natural sciences paradigm?

@adityaag Biggest QOL impact for me is no longer worrying about battery life—I can also easily charge up since i only need to carry around one cable for my entire setup (except my Apple Watch).

I "upgraded" from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 16 Pro. I literally cannot tell the difference. It took me 24 hours to set up the new phone properly etc. It just feels like a waste of time. And I do not understand where this "Apple Intelligence" is????
