The escalation in the Middle East and beyond is pushing millions of people deeper into crisis. Insecurity, restrictions on land, air and maritime corridors, funding shortfalls and severe supply chain disruptions hamper aid operations. Here are our asks: bit.ly/41p6Ggt

UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency
Over four years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, civilians continue to pay the highest price. More than 10.8 million people inside the country need humanitarian assistance. Don’t look away. Don’t forget the people of Ukraine.

More than 200,000 people, mostly Syrian refugees, have crossed from Lebanon into Syria in recent weeks as conflict escalates. They arrive exhausted, traumatized by the airstrikes and with very little belongings or cash. Many had hoped to return home one day, but not under these circumstances.

Watching the news, we too often forget the human impact of the escalation in the Middle East, where millions have been put in danger. Once again, civilians are bearing the brunt across the region. ⚠️Civilians and civilian infrastructure have come under attack; ⚠️Hundreds of thousands have been forced to flee their homes; ⚠️Access to basic services and life-saving assistance has been cut off or disrupted for civilians, including internally displaced people, refugees, and migrants in the hardest-hit areas. This is important news, as evidence suggests that every €1 invested in preparedness and disaster risk reduction abroad (e.g., early warning systems) can save between €2 and €13 in later humanitarian response costs, on average.
