Another night of Russian terror. Eleven people, including a child, were injured in Kyiv during Russia’s overnight attack on July 11. Homes, office buildings and a theological seminary were damaged. Russia also attacked the Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv and Chernihiv regions. The aggressor state launched more than 120 drones and 12 missiles overnight, half of them ballistic. Most of the drones and missiles were intercepted, but not the ballistic missiles. Air defence cannot wait. Ukraine expects its partners to deliver on the support agreed at the NATO Summit. We need rapid progress on the promised Patriot systems, licences for their production, and a joint European anti-ballistic defence project. Protecting lives must remain the top priority.

When floods strike, families lose more than their homes—they lose access to the essentials they rely on every day. Following the recent flooding, with the generous support of the Syria Humanitarian Fund @OCHAFunds, @people_in_need provided cash assistance to 600 internally displaced families living in informal settlements in Raqqa, northern #Syria. Each household received $150, giving families the flexibility to buy what they need most whether it's food, clean water, essential household items, transportation, or minor shelter repairs.

❗️The IOC's decision to lift its recommendations restricting the participation of Russian athletes sends a deeply concerning signal to the international community. We call on the governments of countries hosting international sporting events not to permit the display of Russian state symbols on their territory. Under this flag, Russia continues its unprovoked and illegal war against Ukraine. Every day, civilians are killed, cities are destroyed, and international law is violated. The symbols of an aggressor state have no place at international sporting events. The Olympic Movement is founded on the principles of peace, respect for human dignity, and solidarity. We therefore hope that the issue of the use of Russian state symbols at the Olympic Games will be addressed separately and with the utmost responsibility. We also call on international sports federations to maintain the existing restrictions on representatives of the aggressor state, in line with their commitment to protecting the integrity and values of international sport. Ukraine will continue working closely with its international partners to uphold these principles and to ensure that international sport is never used as a tool to legitimize aggression or whitewash the actions of a state that continues to wage war.

⚡️Explosions heard in Kyiv before air raid alarm activation. Explosions were reported in Kyiv around 12:30 a.m. local time, according to Kyiv Independent journalists on the ground. Ukraine's Air Force warned of the threat of Russian ballistic missiles flying towards the capital.

In #Gaza, more and more families are being displaced again from areas along the "Yellow Line," as Israeli troops advance. Since those areas are unsafe, they are also underserviced. This is how it looks like on the ground.
