Reflexionado un poco sobre todo lo que está pasando, he tenido una idea que me gustaría compartir. Pido disculpas de antemano por el tochaco que estoy apunto de escribir. Después del anuncio de Playstation de asesinar el formato físico a partir de enero de 2028, muchos fans de Playstation que siempre hemos apoyado el formato físico nos sentimos indignados y decepcionados con esta decisión en la que se nos desprecia como público, tratándonos como un porcentaje prescindible. Muchos han llegado a la conclusión de que para luchar contra esta injusticia, le mandarán un mensaje claro a Playstation, dejando de comprar sus juegos, incluso lanzamientos como el próximo Wolverine de Insomniac, el cual si se venderá en formato físico. Para mí esto sería un error e ir demasiado lejos, porque estaríamos perjudicando a esos juegos y a sus desarrolladores, y en mi caso personal quiero seguir apoyando a los juegos de mis estudios favoritos, como puede ser Insomniac, Naughty Dog o Santa Monica, que curiosamente acaba de anunciar que God of War Laufey también saldrá en formato físico. Pero entonces ¿Si voy a seguir apoyando a esos juegos como mandaría un mensaje a Playstation con mi dinero? Mi idea sería boicotear a PS6. Antes de que Sony tomara esta infame decisión, la idea de comprar una PS6 no era una idea atractiva para la mayoría. Pagar 1000€ por una máquina que no supondrá un salto real y que seguramente comparta su catálogo al 100% con PS5 durante bastante tiempo no le apetece a casi nadie. Ahora que sabemos que será solo digital, la cosa está clara. No necesitamos PS6. Quedémonos en PS5, sigamos comprando juegos físicos en PS5, sigamos apoyando a los estudios, mandando un mensaje claro a Playstation: No necesitamos una PS6, mucho menos si es sólo digital. Si todos actuáramos al unísono y ni una sola alma se comprase una PS6, a lo mejor Sony se replantea las cosas, y para 2031 PS6 termina siendo un fracaso absoluto, quizás cambien de opinión y PS7 sea un sistema con soporte para discos y a un precio más asequible, si con suerte ya ha pasado la crisis de escasez de memoria RAM y componentes, o quizás acaben relanzando PS6, esta vez con un modelo compatible con lector de discos. Es solo una idea, y soy consciente de que es un punto de vista desde un escenario utópico donde todo el mundo se une y actúa en consecuencia, lo cual es imposible. Pero ¿qué os parece como idea?

Now that the mainstream media is getting involved, it’s going to be harder for PlayStation to stay silent on the issue. There’s only so far you can get with a “no comment” policy. But I’m really interested to see how they’re going to approach this. What will their multimillion dollar marketing teams come up with?

@alex_kid7 @2003_sarah_s If the factories are shutting down, then why do they say publishers can still reprint games that were made before 2028 after 2028.

I don’t think it really is THAT simple. They’ve shut down factories, they’re designing new consoles based the presumption that they’ll be moving forward with this all-digital plan, and they’ve told this all their third party partners. They would need to pull a complete 180 and restart plans from scratch. That comes with significant costs!

538 days. ⏳ Physical Fact: When a game is on a disc, you own a copy that can't disappear because a digital storefront changes, licensing expires, or a server goes offline. Physical games help preserve gaming history. @PlayStation @Sony, physical still matters.

@JohnnyGaming9 You're damned right. We are traumatized. Some of us see the art in video games. People pour their soul into making them, and we want to preserve that. It's just like books. Why would anyone want a bookshelf full of books when you can just read it online?
