Today, Acting Secretary Rodgers visited leaders at our 805 Brightseat Rd location. The Acting Secretary gave insight into her human services career journey, shared her vision for @MDHumanServices, & encouraged the team to be on the pursuit of excellence, over perfection.

On Monday, we hosted a nonprofit community listening session, with organizations who primarily serve Spanish-speaking communities in the County, to explore opportunities for partnerships and share insights into the current social services landscape. 📊📊

Director Thompson recently participated in a roundtable with Latino elected officials & agency partners in @PrinceGeorgesMD. @pgcountyexec brought us to the table with Speaker of the House Peña-Melnyk to discuss what should be done to support & protect Latino Prince Georgians.

This task force was developed with a council resolution proposed by District 8 County Council Member Ed Burroughs III in 2025. Thank you CM Burroughs & Task Force Chair Joi for having Director Amaya Thompson & Deputy Director Dixon be a part of this pivotal conversation.🫂

Prince George’s County has launched a Foster Care Task Force through the @PGCCouncilMedia, and this week was the first convening. The @PGCDSS is excited to be participating alongside our partners as we work towards greater outcomes for children in Out-of-Home Care in the County.

It is budget season in @PrinceGeorgesMD, & @pgcdss recently went before the @PGCCouncilMedia's Public Safety, Health and Human Services Committee to discuss our proposed FY27 budget. Thank you to PSHHS Committee Chair @CMWanikaFisher & committee members for helping us elevate. 📈
