His pioneering contributions to the development of the nation’s power infrastructure have left an enduring legacy that will continue to inspire generations. POWERGRID has acquired the TBCB project SPV ‘Kakinada I Transmission Limited’ on 29.06.2026 for execution of the Inter-State transmission system project namely ‘Transmission system for proposed Green Hydrogen / Green Ammonia projects in Kakinada area (Phase-I)’ with an estimated cost of Rs. 1619 Cr (NCT estimations). The project comprises establishment of a new 3x1500 MVA, 765/400 kV GIS substation at Kakinada (Andhra Pradesh) alongwith 240 MVAr bus reactor, LILO of Vemagiri - Srikakulam 765kV D/c line at Kakinada substation and ±300 MVAr STATCOM with 2x125 MVAr MSC at Kakinada substation. This project is to be commissioned within 30 months and shall facilitate integration and supply of power to Green Hydrogen / Green Ammonia projects to meet their demand. #POWERGRID #Transmission #EnergyTransition #Infrastructure #India

Narendra Modi, Hon'ble Prime Minister, laid the foundation stone of the Inter-State transmission project namely —Transmission System for Evacuation of Power from Rajasthan REZ Phase-IV (Part-2: 5.5 GW) (Jaisalmer/Barmer Complex): Part-F, being executed by POWERGRID Barmer I Transmission Limited and worth around ₹2,735 crore (NCT estimations).
