About half of Black adolescents who attempted suicide never met criteria for a psychiatric condition by current screening tools. This indicates that our instruments may not be adequate for screening Black youth suicide risk.

Suicide rates for Black girls have increased by more than double that for Black boys. This was shocking to me because we know that overall men complete suicide at a higher rate than women. And it raises many questions about how we’re failing to protect young Black girls.

I waited 3.5 hrs for a PCR test on Dec 30th and just received the results TODAY. Thankfully, while I was in line, volunteers were passing out rapid tests. Another obstacle: have to show state ID. I do not have a state ID for CT but luckily I was able to show proof of residency 🙃
