We defined a new composite endpoint of relapse and safety or tolerability failure, which will serve as the primary endpoint for our upcoming PCORI-funded comparative effectiveness NMOSD trial, scheduled to launch soon.

Excited to share our new paper in @GreenJournal N2. We found better effectiveness and safety outcomes with complement inhibitors, inebilizumab and satralizumab, compared with rituximab. neurology.org/doi/10.1212/NX…

Controversial neurology opinion of the day: the weird obsession we have of presenting the patient’s handedness as super important (“this 57 right-handed male…” etc) is almost never of any real clinical value. (Don’t hate me cognitive people!)

Absolutely brilliant read from @tompollak about the dangers of attributing everything to inflammation. I would add that we, as a field, cannot even agree on what constitutes pathologic inflammation.

@varma_ashwin97 @morgancheatham Agreed. Beyond causal/Bayesian inference, we also need to train clinicians to understand how to read and criticize studies (let alone conduct research). People will use the results of clearly poorly conducted research because they don't have the tools to understand it.

the first 2 rotations of medical school should be clinical pathology and radiology. makes very little sense to send people into clinical settings to interpret diagnostic data with zero understanding of how that data is generated and interpreted

Rule of Thumb
• 10-12% bracket: Roth
• 22-24% bracket: choose either
• 32% +: Traditional
The only rule that survives here, in my opinion, is 10-12% Roth.
Paying 10-12% on tax is rarely a bad idea.
But don't stop here. It's important to adjust this for you.

Roth vs Traditional is a difficult decision.
So most people end up doing a 50/50 split.
But the research shows there is an optimal way with a multi-six-figure impact.
And I NEVER see people talking about this method.

Very important paper our lab led by Dr. Natalia Drosu. We identified DR15-restricted epitopes recognized by EBV-specific CD4 T cells. Findings support the use of antiviral therapies/antigen-specific deletion of EBV-targeting CD4 T cells in MS.

Introductory biology cannot teach you what “cannot” happen because it is introductory, not comprehensive. Even scientific research cannot do that, but this statement is completely false and falsifiable by reading reputable scientific literature.
