@Guntalk We know this isn't how it would happen though. They would make life painful until you turned them in. No driver's license renewal. Garnishing wages. Cancelling health insurance. Increasing property taxes. We better be prepared to resist on all these fronts.

MATH: If there were to be a national gun confiscation effort in the U.S., and they picked up 100 guns a day, it would take 13,698 YEARS to get all the guns in this country. (500,000,000 / 100 / 365.) The next ice age would get here first. ;)

@BennyBroncoFTB @Guntalk A third of adults admits to owning at least one firearm. Where are you putting all of the people who simply ignore the turn in order. 400,000,000 is an estimate. There are at least 100,000,000 firearms out there that have no records.

@Guntalk That's not how it would work, they would know everyone who owns them, anyone who didn't turn them in would have a warrant out for the arrest, you would be stopped on your way to work and arrested for your warrant for not turning in your firearms.

It's RIGHTS Day! Today we decide which of these decisions affecting civil liberties should be overturned. Vote in the polls below to decide which should be in the SOUR 16. As always, may the worst decision win!

@larspetrus @asymmetricinfo The real solution is to faze out social security totally. The best time was 40 years ago, the second best was 20 years ago. Now is going to be very painful.

@phil_opus @asymmetricinfo Thanks! My AI says the retirement age needs to go from 67 to 73/75 to balance things. My real point is that the system should automatically adjust so incomes and expenses match up, without congress doing anything. Because congress is mostly unable to do things...

@larspetrus @asymmetricinfo Not nearly enough. You would need to do something along the lines of 70 for full benefits and 65 for early pretty much immediately. And then there is medicare. As bad as social security is, Medicare is in worse shape and looks unfixable.

@asymmetricinfo Reform proposal: Raise the retirement age by 1 month each year, until the system is sustainable. Also lower it if there is a surplus.

@StangXx @Borderlands Not going to argue about the vault fragments. Switching between a character that has the glide pack upgrades and one that doesn't is a pain. If vehicles were used for anything, shared progression on that would be a must too.

@Borderlands I'm not knocking it, but shared vault key fragments and glide pack upgrades is kinda stupid.

@charlesmurray After touring places like the Vanderbilt mansion, I don't see a history of people being coy about wealth. I do see a situation where people are clueless about their income level because thier neighbors are all in the same bubble.

@cturnbull1968 Is it illegal for a non-citizen to buy Sudafed? Perhaps that is why you aren't asked to provide proof of citizenship.

@shillman1 @MTJakeEaton So you agree non-citizens vote. What you are seeing are the ones that are caught. Why would anyone believe there aren't non-citizens voting and other fraud that is not caught? You would have to be a blithering idiot to believe that.

@shillman1 It solves other problems too. Like making it far harder for the perpetually clueless to vote. Making it harder to votebis rather feature not the bug.

@RealBarabbas The entire population of Ohio needs to re-register to vote before November? That seems odd. Of course the same documents that you use for the real id which is sufficient to vote, will work at registration.

@2aHistory @MorosKostas Yes they would. And there would be a wood stove with a constant fire and a hatchet right outside the door to make kindling. And a tub of water heating on the wood stove.

You're the lawyer. What's been the law for the last 400 years? Literally every household of every relative I visited had guns behind the kitchen door, hanging on a wall or in a closet. Not a single one owned a "safe". Okay, if toddlers were around they wouldn't be behind the kitchen door..

@2aHistory Its basic negligence. You're telling me if you leave a gun totally unsecured and a toddler get it and kills himself, or your teenager shoots up a school, there should be no legal culpability to you?

Step 1: Brew your cup of coffee and add cream to taste. The real stuff, not a "liquid creamer." Heavy whipping cream is best. Step 2: Put the cup in the microwave for the time necessary to bring the brew to your desired temp. After my Nespresso machine has brewed a large cup, that's about 50 seconds. Step 3: Transfer the cup of coffee in the microwave-safe cup to a lidded Yeti cup, where it will remain not for a long time. You're welcome.

They really think they’ve got something with the passport argument. It costs $165 for a passport which also takes time to process. Poll tax.
Third time@cobiesson

@DecodingFoxNews She can show her passport or she probably has a real ID required to fly. She can show her birth certificate and marriage license. She can get both if she lost hers.
