A thread of 2A citations. Most are 18th/19th century cites showing 2A to be an individual Right, but some are 20th century and some show the militia to be comprised of all citizens and some are oddballs. Starting with: the militia isn't just American.. x.com/2aHistory/stat…

Another history tidbit on English militia practices of late 18th century & earlier. 1) Not just a "colonist" thing that militias existed. 2) Wasn't necessary for militia members to actively muster & train. 3) It was common to keep arms in homes. Militias of London - 1782

@2aHistory @GhostOfCR @redwulf19 @RKBAShackleford So who was defending our rights then? Because Printz and Muscarello, while important, were not attacking the biggest of the problems. Which is hardware bans. 1980 to 2008, nothin. Though god knows the speed of fucking 'justice' in SCOTUS when it comes to the 2A...

More recently you had the current generations pushing through Biden's gun control bill on a bipartisan basis. Was that 60+ yr old boomers responsible for electing those politicians? Nope, not mostly. 1994 AWB dropped... Boomers? FOPA and PLCAA - Boomers? Dick Heller was a boomer, I believe.

@FundsGreen @Skwerilleee @austinramos99 Because nobody has set the foundation to show that machineguns are protected by the Second Amendment, and a straight on case would lose. SCOTUS has been saying that for 70 years, and even recently. So first thing to do is prove that militia use is protected by 2A.

If it doesn't include a Hughes repeal than you're just taking 200 bucks off the purchase of a $50,000 gun lmao Worthless theatrics.
Gun Owners of America@GunOwners

🚨BREAKING🚨 @RepBoebert just introduced the GOA-backed Freedom from Taxes Act of 2026. This finishes the job Congress started last year by reducing the $200 NFA tax on machine guns! The NFA is a gun control relic that is meant to price gun owners out of their 2A rights.

@revenantsplines @GhostOfCR @redwulf19 @RKBAShackleford Wait.. boomers are from 1946 to 1964. So some 18-22 year olds are to blame for the GCA in 1968? The vast majority of boomers were too young to vote in 1968. It wasn't people over 22 that voted in politicians who passed GCA?

@2aHistory @revenantsplines @redwulf19 @RKBAShackleford Dude, one guy who saved and sacrificed far beyond what he would have had to a couple of decades ago. What we are seeing is a massive consequence to excessive government spending, blaming it on and dismissing the younger generations is not wise.

@revenantsplines @GhostOfCR @redwulf19 @RKBAShackleford Know a younger guy that in his 20's.. Well.. Hell of a work ethic, good job, saved his money. Bought a much nicer house than I had. 4 bedroom, great neighborhood. Leased out 3 bedrooms to other guys. So.. you know.. some people do it.

@2aHistory @GhostOfCR @redwulf19 @RKBAShackleford Blaming it on 'avocado toast' type arguments is so shallow and stupid. As you've demonstrated with the house facts above. What has happened is that the policies of the previous generations have pretty much made it illegal to live cheaply.

@GhostOfCR @redwulf19 @RKBAShackleford Hell, the countryside for 30 to 50 miles around cities is gone - it's all expensive acreages now. Not the kind of houses that boomers were building in the 50's and 60's.

@GhostOfCR @redwulf19 @RKBAShackleford 7-8 years higher. Yep. And the shift of the population from the rural areas (housing is cheap) to cities (housing is expensive) has been massive. Labor costs are far higher. I know house listings in small towns that are very low compared to cities.
