@IrishPTNolan @EmmaLouDoran @RTERadio1 100% correct. 80s, was asked for guarantor for a small loan, I asked to see the manager and told him that it was unfortunate that they would lose out on the over £1 million that would go through my account over the coming years as I was closing my account. He changed his mind.

Myself and women my ilk (66 now) did work back in 'days of yore'. We were the generation got the banks to give mortgages to women. I'm not laughing at the anyone broad-brushing this. A simple 'thank you' would suffice @EmmaLouDoran #BrendanOConnor @RTERadio1

@irishelt Not necessarily the case, it takes time for everyone to look at something clearly when dissapointment is the overriding feeling. Football can be cruel and one mistake can be overly punished. That is the team we have, and they are hurting, so we need to support them now.

I’m feeling great. I have no sense of temperature on my right side, and I can’t write - but I can live alone, I can type, I can walk, and I hopefully can drive. #StrokeRecovery

I’ve always loved and tried to support fan-created art in football - some of the best people I’ve worked with have been fans from India, Indonesia, Thailand, USA, UK and Egypt. This TikTok video from NiallfromWexford is the best thing I’ve seen recently

I hope no one needs an MRI this year. The world's largest producer of liquified helium is in Qatar and is shut off. We just got a notice that our supply for the year will be at least cut in half. No one could have predicted this (unless they thought about it).

"I don’t see why I can’t rub shoulders with them. It’s going to be interesting to really put myself in the mix, make a statement, see if I'm as good as I think I am at the minute, as good as I think I can be." Nick Griggs ahead of the world indoor final: irishexaminer.com/sport/otherspo…

Days of the MV Naomh Éanna, Ireland
The Saint Patrick passing North West Greenland in 1993, which is possibly the most spectacular photo ever taken of a Galway Hooker. The 1909 Casey's of Mweenish, Connemara, built Saint Patrick - Bád Chonraí, was skippered by Paddy Barry as she sailed to Greenland in 1993.

@AkaPaulHoward You are just too young, everyone deplored the replacement of lovely counter tops with Formica although not all formica was Formica, a bit like calling your vacuum cleaner a Hoover.

It’s uncanny how many times the word “Formica” pops up in novels. I’ve been noticing it for years. I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say Formica outside the world of fiction.
