The hatred vs Alawites some Homsis who survived the siege have, at a point to blindly attack them, incl. civilians, mirroring Regime crimes is unmatched elsewhere in the country. #Syria: last night, another attack targeted an Alawite family in Sabil district (#Homs). A mother and her 2 children, aged 9 and 16, were shot on their balcony by gunmen. They were all killed. This is the latest episode of the deep sectarian tensions dividing Homs' communities, rooted in the atrocities committed by pro-Regime fighters - many of them Alawites from the city's districts - between 2012 and 2014. In Homs, since Assad's fall, retaliatory attacks target both former Regime fighters and Alawite civilians, the latter being a form of collective punishment.
